Pros: Everything went way smoother than I expected. Rental car companies get a bad name for ripping customers off, but Thrifty Sydney Airport were friendly, professional and I didn't get any unexpected surprises after I brought the car back. I highly recommended them.

Cons: Told employee (it was DEBBIE!) at thrifty desk at Sydney Airport we want to go to the outback - she offered an upgrade since the rented car wasn‘t „suitable“ for the outback. we paid a lot of money for this upgrade 2000AUD. When we got to the outback, we had two punctures (one shredded). Jack didn‘t work and bent what left us in a very dangerous situation. We got all luck of the world that two men with all equipment needed drove by. Never ever again Thrifty. Debbie should be fired.

Cons: Not given correct location to where car was parked which cost us time when in a rush. Toll scenario wasn’t correctly supplied. Car returns were poorly signed around the airport.

Pros: Reception in Sydney was fantastic even though we waited for a bit, staff member handled it so well. She's a credit to Company.

Cons: The car deodorant from cleaners was overpowering to a point we had to wind windows down often. Polestar/Volvo work hard to make interiors with allergy free materials to touch and smell, yet someone sprays hideous smelling fragrance in them. Yuk.

Free cancellation with a full refund up to 48 hours before your pick-up time, Unlimited mileage, Collision Damage Waiver, Theft Protection, Roadside Assistance (in the country of pick-up), Third Party Liability (TPL), Free modifications, State Tax, Surcharges.
Rate excludes
The following surcharges may apply: Accident Administration fee, Premium Location surcharge, VAT, Recovery Fee, Airport Surcharge.
An E-Toll is offered in order to avoid violation fees.
An E-toll charge will apply; personal consumption will be charged separately at the end of the rental period.
Driver requirements
Minimum rental age is 21 years.
A young driver fee applies to drivers under the age of 25.

There is no maximum age.
A Senior driver fee is not applied.

The driver license must have been issued by authorized authorities at least 1 year(s) before the date of the commencement of the rental.

In addition to the regular driver license, an International Driving Permit is also mandatory if the national driver license is not written in English.
Please note that the International Driving Permit is valid only if it is accompanied by a regular driver's license, is issued by an official authority or government-authorized organization, and is in physical (not digital) form.
For driver licenses from countries not party to the International Driving Permit treaty, an official translation of the license must be presented with the original license.

Only physical driver's licenses are accepted (not digital versions).
UK customers must bring their DVLA check code along with their photo ID. This check code can be obtained from the DVLA website.

In addition to documents mentioned previously, the customer will need the following: 2 proofs of home address (e.g. Utility bill), that is valid for at least 3 months before the pick up date.

Fuel policy
The vehicle is provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with the same amount in order to avoid additional charges.
Additional information
In case of renting at the airport location, the customer must provide a valid flight number in order to make a reservation.
Business hours
The supplier will hold the vehicle for 29 minutes after your scheduled pick-up time as long as it is within their normal business hours. After this time, your booking may be canceled without refund.
