Simba Car Hire at Sydney Airport

Pros: Staff was very courteous and helpful.

Cons: We were given a hatchback instead of the sedan that we had reserved.

Pros: Sat nav, quick collection and drop off

Cons: Car smelt musty, stains on seats, interior felt sticky, valeting very poor (worst we’ve ever experienced), state of car exterior was very poor with numerous dents, scratches and marks (again worst experience ever )

Cons: As soon as collected the car and driven away the warning message stating an oil change was due was flashing on the dashboard. This continued for full period of the 5 day hire which made me feel a little nervous driving the car.

Pros: Simba cars provided a professional service at pick up and return. We found Celia at the Brisbane point of return very welcoming professional and efficient. Thank you.

Pros: Needed the Road assistance because the positiv terminal of the battery was not well connected

Pros: The staff were all very helpful and friendly. Once a minor error in charging was identified, there was no problem with them to rectify it.

Cons: The pick up process was slow, inefficient and lacked important invormation. Breakdown insurance was added without asking me. The car had a lot of body damage. We ordered a 5 door car but were given a 4 door car.

It seemed the gearbox was failing, it barely made it up hills, juddering all the way; windscreen wipers not effective and the battery went flat and they charged $195 for roadside assistance; they deducted the security deposit, rather than just putting a hold on it as most do (who knows when we’ll see that again) and told us that they’d deduct the full excess ($6480) from us immediately for any damage at all and would refund surplus (if any) whenever they got around to it.

Pros: Happy to go the extra step and always good to get the car we had booked as we needed the Kia Carnival due to having four sets of golf clubs and four suitcases plus height restrictions in some garages we were staying at.

Pros: 1) Pick-up from the Sydney airport to the office employee was very friendly. 2) Return the car in Adelaide was smooth.

Cons: *SAFETY ALERT* It is the cheapest. But remember that costs and real service come up when you need support. The signs on the photo appeared while driving on highway. I called the customer service, "The lady says , it's ok to drive." if they disappear sometimes. If we are not happy, they told us to drive back to Sydney (200km back) OR to organize the tooling for the car but I need to cover the cost if they don't find any technical problem. (Even though, they made us buy full insura

Cons: We received a car which was completely unmaintained. The car we were meant to hire was not ready, so they advised they would give us the same model, but different car which was ready. It then turned out that it needed a rear tyer replacement which we had to wait to be done. Then, just after leaving, we had a warning light telling us to take the car to the nearest dealership. Simba advised to ignore this warning as it was a 'known issue' with this car. 2 days later, more issues. Just terrible.

Cons: The Simba agent telling me the price per day for insurance, and the sign in bright lights behind him clearly stating that it was $5 cheaper per day than what he was trying to charge me.

Pros: Kind service, easy, free transit to the airport. Very good car! Not to expensive. The tank wasn’t filled at pickup, but noted, and I did not have to return it with a full tank, so good solution.

Cons: There were a lot of little schratches and little dents in the car, that were not noted or fotographed. We returned it but did not recieve a confirmation by e-mail e.g that everything was alright. Only by word of the staff. So hopefully we will get our deposit back…

So I thought it was 500aud for 4 days which turned out to be 881usd and then the reservation is mad by simba car rentals Sydney. Who nobody has heard of who charges their own separate rental fee for those days and adds it to the overall bill after you drop off car and they said don't know who their 3rd party partners are

Pros: Car very good and clean, price very competitive, overall. Staff also good , except for one lady. Staff should spend some time ensuring drivers are fully aware how cars operate. They just hand you the keys. Issue with boot licking on one car, rang and emailed Simba Sydney , told someone would call me, no call back.

Cons: The lady on the desk picking up on our first booking at Melbourne was very rude and charged a higher ice for the additional driver than was quoted originally. When this was questioned she showed me fine print that Simba car hire can change the prices and stated Discover cars don’t dictate the prices. This is very bad business for both you and Simba as booking is made on prices quoted. She also charged for a sat nav system that wasn’t in the car, car operated from Apple Maps.

Pros: They picked me up from the airport and took me to pick up the car. They gave me a new Hyundai Tuscon, and in two weeks in Sydney, I made 1500km. When I finished with the car they drove me back to the airport.
