Pros: Fast process

Cons: The washer fluid was empty. Not a big deal. The car was also dirty on the outside. Also not a big deal. I would prefer to rent a car with a full petrol tank. "Full to full" is far easier than "same to same" as it was in this case.

Pros: When I picked up the car they were friendly and fast.

Cons: I had a massive disagreement Alamo over responsibility for a flat tire. On the 2nd day of our 5-day rental the low tire light came on so we stopped to add air in the front right tire. This repeated every day until we finally replaced it with the spare. When I dropped off the car they told me I would be charged for a new tire (340 euros) and I was shocked because it was a part of their car that failed. This was a total ripoff!

Cons: Upon arriving to pick up the car the agents were a bit gruff like they didn't want to work or interact. However they were willing to answer all our questions.

Cons: The car was dusty. Check in was rushed. I was taking photos of all the existing damage and the agent rushed me through it and said it is all on his records and quickly showed me. He missed a big scratch under the front bumper - at drop off I was told it was new and thankfully I had a photo to prove it wasn’t. They would have charged me my excess / damages through no fault of my own. Poor final experience.

Cons: When we arrived in Dubrovnik, Alamo tried to force me to take out a second insurance policy because, according to them, they didn't recognize the one I had taken out with Discovers. They also asked me for a deposit of 2,000 euros instead of the 700 euros agreed upon in the contract. So, after several confrontations, they recognized the contract as it was.

Pros: They were decent in that they gave us an automatic although we had booked a manual car.

Cons: They didn’t provide us a spare tire and we had to be rescued from 80kms away because our tire had a slow puncture which caused it to deflate down and we couldn’t fix it in Easter Sunday. As my daughter had to take a flight that evening, I stayed with the car while my wife and daughter had to take two taxis to Dubrovnik airport, one to the Montenegro Croatia Border and the other one from there. It cost them €145.

Rate includes
Free cancellation with a full refund up to 48 hours before your pick-up time, Unlimited mileage, Collision Damage Waiver (deductible: € 900.00), Theft Protection, Third Party Liability (TPL), VAT (value added tax), Free modifications.
Driver requirements
Minimum rental age is 18 years.
A young driver fee applies to drivers under the age of 21.

Maximum rental age is 80 years.
A senior driver fee applies to drivers over the age of 70.

The driver license must have been issued by authorized authorities at least 1 year(s) before the date of the commencement of the rental.

A driver license printed using a non-Roman alphabet (Arabic, Japanese, Cyrillic, etc) must be supplemented by an International Driving Permit.
Please note that the International Driving Permit is valid only if it is accompanied by a regular driver's license, is issued by an official authority or government-authorized organization, and is in physical (not digital) form. Only physical driver's licenses are accepted (not digital versions).
In addition to documents mentioned previously, the customer will need the following: valid driver license, credit card on a main drivers name, Passport or ID card, booking voucher.
Deposit and deductible policy


Deductible/excess will be charged per damage.
Cross-border policy
Cross border rentals are allowed only upon previous request.
Crossing country borders is allowed to the following countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, Serbia, European Union, North Macedonia.

The purchase of the following insurance(s): Third Party Liability (TPL) is mandatory.

In the event that Cross Border & Territorial Restrictions are violated, all protections lose their validity.
Using a ferry is allowed on the previous request and for an additional charge with special permission from the car rental company.

Available special equipment: GPS Navigation system, Baby seat (up to 1 year of age), Child seat (2-4 years of age), Booster seat (4-10 years of age), Snow chains.
Prices for extras are shown on the booking page.


Booked extras are not guaranteed. All extras are subject to availability at the rental counter.

Delivery/Collection service is available only by previous request.
Additional charges will be applied.

During winter season (from 15.11 until 15.04) Winter tires are included in price.
Fuel policy
The vehicle is provided with a certain amount of fuel and must be returned with the same amount in order to avoid additional charges.
Additional information
By law, winter tires are mandatory on all roads from 15.11 to 15.04.
Snow chains are recommended in icy/snowy conditions, especially when traveling in mountainous areas.
Business hours
Service outside of business hours is available by request and for an additional charge.
The supplier will hold the vehicle for 0 minutes after your scheduled pick-up time as long as it is within their normal business hours. After this time, your booking may be canceled without refund.
