Garage Nr1 at Dubrovnik Airport

Pros: Service was great. Efficient, friendly. Mind you, we were the only ones there at pickup time (8:00AM) so we didn't have to contend with anyone.

Cons: They needed a 950Euro hold on my card because we had insurance through Discovercars and not them. My main complaint was about the car itself: the headrest height adjustment was broken...it's a little thing that turned into a bothersome issue, but we worked around it.

Cons: We requested to drop the car off 2 hrs later than planned because of our flight time changed, they said it would be an additional €155, which is crazy for 2 hours.

Pros: nothing really. They were nice enough to refund us 100 euros for the non-working aircon, but the car was excessively overpriced so it didn't really make a dent in the overall cost.

Cons: We were given a vehicle that didn't have working aircon when it was nearly 40 degrees on a daily basis in Europe. The car rental company tried to overcharge us for everything, including prepaid gas (which ended up being more expensive than if we'd just bought it ourselves), ridiculous extra insurance policy they tried to force on us, and then charging us 350 Euros for a smudge on the car.

Pros: Staff friendly, car clean and in good condition. No issues at drop off.

Pros: Yaris cross was very clean inside and out although rear bumper was a bit damaged. Totally exceeded my expectations from the cheapest car rental in that area.

Cons: We had to pay an added fee for taking our car on a ferry. This is normal in the region so Garage Nr1 isn’t the only one who does it but it was still an unexpected added expense.

Cons: Impossible to find their office. Both Address and phone # were wrong for SPU office. Could not reach them at all. Had to ask another car rental company near by to find out where Garage NR1 is.

Pros: Staff were friendly and very clear. They also checked car condition at pickup with us and left a good impression. Return was also very easy.

Pros: Very helpful staff member, no pressure to buy any extras but all add ins were explained in detail to make an informed choice. Staff member also dropped one party member off at the airport door when she had to return to the car rental for a forgotten passport, this is going the extra mile!

Cons: Cross border fee was higher than a lot of other companies, but this was pretty much balanced out with the price of the rental being lower than most other companies.

Pros: Excellent car in perfect condition.

Cons: Located a bit further and across very busy road from airport terminal than most companies but still a relatively short walk. Slightly frosty agent when picking up car but same agent really friendly when dropping off car. (Maybe just had a bad day).

Cons: We had to wait in the hot sun outside without anywhere to sit Down for over one hour to pick up our car. It was a busy time for them.

Pros: Very welcoming, efficient - customer centric - they took one look at our luggage and the car we'd hired and upgraded us to a bigger one for €1 more per day! Also sorted all paperwork and passes for everywhere we planned on going - in particular Montenegro.

Cons: It is not located in the main car rental center in the Dubrovnik airport. It is not far, but we were struggling a bit to find it in the dark.

Cons: Map to find GarageNo1 very poor and I spent a while trying to find it. I asked for specific directions and I was referred to the website again! Once again, charged for being late!

Pros: Very bad and sneaky company. Will definitely not use this company again. And 200% not recommend!

Cons: When we picked up the car, they were very sneaky and asked us to sign the document that proved the car is in perfect condition, lucky we refused to sign it without checking the car! So we checked the car carefully, and took a video of the car in front of them. When we return the car, they try to blame old scratches on the car for us, and they will hold our deposit for a full month. It's clear from their demeanour both at pickup and drop off that they're doing this intentionally.

Pros: Very quick service which was a benifit, quick to unblock credit card aswell.

Cons: It was quite hard to find, it's not located with the other bigger company's, so we had to ask someone after looking around a while, could do with a better description/map of where to walk. Also we returned the car to a different airport and the place was about a 10 min drive from the airport, which they take you to no problem but again, didn't know this until we arrived.

Cons: They have extra options and it was too expensive. I bought €30 for Only 3 levels fuel even though one level gone in 3 km driving. Baby car seat was really uncomfortable. My baby could not seat over 30 min. Never rent baby car seat herer

Pros: The car was in great condition. It was economically conscious and practically brand new. The staff member working at Dubrovnik Garage Nr1 was fantastic and even provided us with a list of his personal recommendations of places to eat like a local. All around excellent experience and fair price.

Cons: The car was so smart we couldn't figure out how to turn of some of the safety sounds. It got annoying how often it chimed when approaching a car or when changing lanes.

Pros: They said my reservation was cancelled when I arrived and said they could not help me. No cars available, and did not refund my $27 hold on rental. The rental agent said I was a no show. He lied. Poor customer service. I was robbed $27. Dont use this company. Beware!!

Cons: This owner is a scam artist. Trying to get me to upgrade without telling me a price and buy Insurance when I have full coverage. I pointed out small marks on the car at pickup and the woman said not to bother marking them that they’re small. I go to drop it off and a scuff in the rim that was there prior they tried to say I damaged the rim. It was half an inch in length and 1cm in width. It was Normal wear from the roads. The owner started getting loud and belligerent with me.

Cons: The representative in the garage refused to rent us the car on the insurance basis that we agreed to on our online booking. Tried to charge us more to fully insure the car - we ended up cancelling the rental on this basis as we felt we could not trust the garage so had to use taxis for our trip. Do not use this provider. Go with a more established reputable brand like Europcar or Avis.

Small scratch on the door resulted in Euro850. 00 charge to me for repair which I had no way to compare or dispute - max cost would have been Euro300 tops...

I was recommended to pay for documents to cross the border even though I’m pretty sure they didnt ever check - this fee should be included with the price of the rental if it’s really so mandatory. Also I paid in advance for gas and didn’t get any money back for barely having used the gas.

On arrival at the office he greeted us and got us on the way in no time at all. On our return the handover was quick and easy. Overall they were very efficient and friendly and I'd recommend them.
