    A lovely bucolic island with very friendly people. Had conversations with locals curious about where we come from. Met several fellow Canadians whose parents or grandparents had emigrated after WW2 and have now purchased vacation homes on Santa Maria. The young people speak perfect English and went out of their way to inform us of things to see.
