SIXT at Brisbane Airport

Pros: The desk is at the terminal, easy to find.

Cons: The agent gave us the keys but didn't tell us where the car was parked. We have to ask her before the information was given, also the return the procedure. Not all the damages were listed in the document. We took a video and showed it to her but she was not interested, saying it'd be noted. We sent an email to SIXT with the above and didn't get a reply. On returning the car, we thought we'd point out the above. Despite it said the desk should be opened, no agent was there.

Pros: Drop off was easy.

Cons: The Sixt representative was rude and the car given, which was fit city use, was a large mine spec utility, which man I couldn’t put 4 people in and have my bags and shopping secure in the vehicle and had to constantly shuffle everything from outside to in at every stop, and due to the size of the car it was very difficult to get into underground carparks and at the hotel I had to find street parking near by to leave it at night instead of being about to utilise the park I had paid for.

Pros: The car provided was nice, clean and very economical

Cons: I found the woman that served me on pick-up was a little rude and I didn't get the car I booked, the one provided was much smaller

Pros: Overall SIXT was very professional, and provided good service. The booking through Discover Cars offered excellent value for money.

Cons: The main issue with our experience was that the vehicle we booked was not available, and we had to wait for another vehicle to be made available. Pick up process was relatively time consuming also because the vehicle had damage and internal soiling that was not recorded on the rental agreement and needed to be carefully documented.

Cons: upon receiving the car I asked to pay in cash the amount of the rental and was told that its ok but upon returning the car was told it is not possible. also there is no connection between SIXT and discovercars, and i paid extra money for just making the reservation through your company and found out that if any damage happens to the car i would have to pay thousands of dollars to SIXT since i wasn't covered by them. the service you provide is very poor.

Customer service told us they would call us with an update. 2 hours later sitting at international airport with a newborn baby, thankfully another waiting customer decided to go over domestic and told us they had staff there. Horrific experience and I would not use Sixt again

Cons: Social skill of (just) one lady was a little strange. She totally ignored my (female) partner when we were collecting the rental vehicle, whilst she answered her questions she would not look at my partner but lent forward “into” me to respond. Most unusual and a little off-putting.

Cons: When i picked the car up from sixt brisbane Airport lovely lady told me i would get $200 of my deposit back after returning the vehicle in same condition returned it back to brisbane Airport full tank even had a couple of hours spare so gave it a vaccum and a quick wash returning it better than when i received it still haven't seen my $200 deposit and been back 5 days 🤔

Pros: The drop-off service was rushed and procedure for recording the damage to the windscreen (filling out an accident report by hand) was inefficient and time consuming. The subsequent follow up service has been very poor. Despite chasing SIXT with three emails I am still waiting for an invoice for the replacement glass. When I dropped off the car they failed to tell me they would be retaining the full $1,100 deposit in lieu of the damages windscreen. I only discover this on my credit card statemen

Cons: There has been no response to my emails requesting a full invoice. It almost two weeks since I returned the car and am keen to follow up a claim under my insurance cover taken out with Discover Cars. This I understand I will keen to do within the next two weeks (28 days).

Pros: Very friendly staff. Now worries kind of attitude. Had us take pictures of the vehicle before driving so we could evidence any damage done by someone else... which there was. So far they were receptive of the photos we provided and we feel good.

Pros: Discover Cars/ SIXT The collection booth was very conveniently located with the other big car hire companies at Brisbane Airport. Amna excelled expectations as she was super knowledgeable and swift with the paper work. She even appeared at the cars later making sure all customers were satisfied. She kindly upgraded up to a Hyundai Kona which was very modern and smart-looking with charging ports and LCD screen Radio.

Cons: We found the shocks of the Kona made for a bouncy ride in the backseat which was uncomfortable on the rural roads.

The car was not very clean as we are used to but it was ok .It would have been great to pay online the car so we can pick up the key in a box when arriving and go straight to the carpark.

Cons: They don't offer their customer any flexibility. We booked for the pick-up at 5pm. While we arrived earlier at 4pm, if we pick up the car at 4pm, we'd have to return by 4pm on the returning date. And I was told if I return the car 2 mins over 4pm I'd be charged for another full day. Their next door competitor Hertz would give you 1 hour prior to the hiring start time and 1 hour after the hiring end time.

Cons: No-one at counter when flight arrived. By the time I left there were 4-5couples waiting.

Cons: My flight was delayed and I arrived at Brisbane airport at about 11:40pm. By the time I got to the SIXT collection area they were shut. I tried ringing them but no answer. I left a message that I would still like to collect the car the next morning. When I spoke to them next morning they had cancelled my booking and had no alternative cars available. Never use them again.
