Pros: The two men at our pick-up and return respectively were fantastic. I will surely use Europcar again after this. I've rented cars somewhere between 20-40 times per year for several years, and these two gentlemen offered - by far - the best service I've ever received at a car rental.

Pros: Kimberly provided a superb level of customer experience. She, unprompted, provided us with an extensive list of restaurants, bars, and attractions to visit while in Scotland. Kim also was extremely helpful with public transit and route info. All of this plus a welcome sense of humor made our experience top notch.

Pros: Did not like the service of Ms Nina during pick up from the airport. Very arrogant and not fit for a customer facing role

Cons: Did not have the car as promised, charged more for an upgrade. Happy to refund fully and leave the client hanging. Insurance guidelines were explained with complete discomfort.

Pros: Nothing.

Cons: Our rental car wasn't safety checked before being rented out to us. Turned out it had a cracked wheel which makes it not road worthy in the UK. Couldn't get it fixed because kwik fit (the company europcar uses for repairs) couldn't get anyone on the phone to authorise the repair even after trying a number of different departments. We were without the car for 2 days before I finally asked for a refund (still waiting to hear about that) and cancelling the rental contract. Horrible experience.

Pros: The one woman working the desk.

Cons: I waited for over an hour to collect the car, was not informed about several charges including one B.S 'Premium location ' pick up charge and the customer service is terrible. The car itself also malfunctioned the entire trip and we kept being told it was just a chip fault and we were fine. It meant the whole trip we were stressed about the car.

Free cancellation with a full refund up to 48 hours before your pick-up time, Unlimited mileage, Collision Damage Waiver (deductible: ~€ 1965.00), Theft Protection, Third Party Liability (TPL), Vehicle registration fee, Free modifications.
Rate excludes
The following mandatory surcharge(s) will be applied: Premium Location surcharge.
Driver requirements
Minimum rental age is 22 years.
A young driver fee applies to drivers under the age of 26.

Maximum rental age is 75 years.
A Senior driver fee is not applied.

The driver license must have been issued by authorized authorities at least 2 year(s) before the date of the commencement of the rental.

UK customers must bring their DVLA check code along with their photo ID. This check code can be obtained from the DVLA website.

UK residents that hold a non-UK licence may drive in the UK for up to 12 months from the time they become a resident. After 12 months, the overseas licence will be deemed illegal in the UK and it must be exchanged for the UK equivalent.


Customers are only allowed to rent only if they agree to a credit check and their credit score is satisfactory.

Residents of the following country(ies): United Kingdom are required to present the following document(s): valid driver license, credit card on a main drivers name, Passport or ID card, booking voucher, additional ID showing home address (e.g. Utility bill), proof of entry/exit into/out of the country, boarding pass in order to pick up the car.

Residents of the following country(ies): Non-UK are required to present the following document(s): valid driver license, credit card on a main drivers name, Passport or ID card, booking voucher, additional ID showing home address (e.g. Utility bill), proof of entry/exit into/out of the country, boarding pass in order to pick up the car.

In addition to the regular driver license, an International Driving Permit is also mandatory if the driver license is written in a language other than that of the renting country and/or in characters that cannot be read in the renting country.
Please note that the International Driving Permit is valid only if it is accompanied by a regular driver's license, is issued by an official authority or government-authorized organization, and is in physical (not digital) form.
Deposit and deductible policy
If the customer takes the following extra equipment: GPS Navigation system, Child seat (2-4 years of age), Booster seat (4-10 years of age), then an additional amount of deposit will be held on their credit card.
Cross-border policy
Cross border rentals are allowed only upon previous request.
Crossing country borders is allowed to the following countries: Ireland, Northern Ireland.
crossing country borders is forbidden for certain car groups.
Additional charges will be applied in case the car is crossing state or region borders.
Written permission from the rental company is required. In the event that Cross Border & Territorial Restrictions are violated, all protections lose their validity.
Optional extras and services
Available special equipment: GPS Navigation system, Baby seat (up to 1 year of age), Child seat (2-4 years of age), Booster seat (4-10 years of age).
Prices for extras are shown on the booking page.

Adding additional drivers is allowed.
There is an additional charge for each driver.
Underage additional drivers are subject to both Young Driver and Additional Driver fees.
When picking up the vehicle, all drivers must be present and must provide valid documentation.

Delivery/Collection service is available within city limits. Additional charges will be applied, depending on the distance.
Fuel policy
The vehicle is provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with the same amount in order to avoid additional charges.
Additional information
Winter tires are recommended during the winter season but are not mandatory.
Snow chains are allowed in icy/snowy conditions.
In case of renting at the airport location, the customer must provide a valid flight number in order to make a reservation.
Business hours
The supplier will hold the vehicle for 30 minutes after your scheduled pick-up time as long as it is within their normal business hours. After this time, your booking may be canceled without refund.
