Located in the historic region of Epirus in Northwestern Greece, Preveza is a gateway to one of the least explored parts of the country. These are four of the most interesting attractions in and around it:

• Preveza Promenade. A port city for millennia, Preveza is home to one of the quaintest promenades in Greece. Located in the heart of the city and characterized by the colorful facades of the historic buildings that dot the shoreline, the promenade is one of the nicest places to spend an evening and enjoy a sunset, and it is also near several notable landmarks.
• Nicopolis. Dating back to the 1st century BC when the area was controlled by the Romans, Nicopolis is one of the most notable archaeological sites in this part of the country. Founded by the emperor Octavian, Nicopolis is home to various notable Roman landmarks, like the Nymphaeum and Odeon, and also relatively more sites connected to the early Christian rule of the area.
• Parga. Also located on the coast, but some way north of Preveza, Parga is a historical city known for its impressive 16th-century city that dates back to the Venetian rule of this area of Greece. Equally important for many travelers, Parga is also surrounded by some truly idyllic beaches. The drive from Preveza takes about 50 minutes.
• Lefkada. Preveza is located in the western part of Greece and is near the Ionian archipelago, which ranks among the most beautiful regions in the country. One of the Ionian islands, Lefkada, is so close to the mainland that it is connected to it by a bridge, and it takes less than an hour to drive from Preveza to it. Playing a prominent role in Ancient Greek mythology, nowadays Lefkada is best known for its beautiful beaches, such as Porto Katsiki, which is situated against the backdrop of a massive coastal cliff and is one of the most photographed shorelines in the country.

Location

Preveza Airport is located in and serves the region of Epirus. It’s about 41 km (25.5 mi) south of Preveza, about 47 km (29 mi) north of Lefkada, and about 58 km (36 mi) southwest of Arta.

Preveza Airport is quite small, but you’ll find a few snack bars and other eateries, as well as stores, including a duty-free shop and gift shops selling local Greek handicrafts, two ATMs, a currency exchange, a health center, a pharmacy, and a lost and found office at the information center. The airport offers free unlimited Wi-Fi. Assistance is offered to travelers with reduced mobility, but make sure to contact your airline at least 48 hours before arrival if you’d like this service.

Nearest gas station

Shell gas station, located at Ioanninon 199, Preveza, can be reached in about 14 minutes. There are other gas stations not far from the airport and on the way to both Lefkada and Preveza.
