Picking up the car required a robust cell signal inside a garage, whihc I did not have. Made the process take more than an hour. You should make people do the docs ahead of time.

If you are staying in Edinburgh there is really no need for a rental car because the public transport is excellent! I was traveling to the Highlands and visiting friends and family so a rental car was needed. Smaller cars are easier to use on the roads in Scotland. GreenMotion offered an excellent vehicle at a terrific rate with excellent customer service. I would recommend getting the rental car from an agency away from the airport as I have found the rates cheaper with a better selection.
