Alamo at Edinburgh Waverley Train Station

Pros: Helpful guys but was dismayed to turn up at Edinburgh train station only to find I had a treasure hunt ahead to find the actual offices which were open.

Cons: At the last minute when picking up the vehicle they ask you for a £500 deposit WTAF, yeah no worries mate I’ll call my accountant and release the gold shall I ??

Pros: Quick friendly check in

Cons: Dark underground car park. Couldn't see any potential scratches etc.

Pros: Nothing. There was no service provided.

Cons: Alamo don't let rent the car, because they demand a international license that have never been así me before (in other countries). But the Say the could not give me a refund because Discovery has the money I paid.

Pros: Clear instructions for pick up and drop off. Staff for pick up is nice and helpful, brief all of the important items clearly and patiently. Also time for pick up and drop.

Cons: If the fuel tank is fulled for ready to pick up, it wil be better.

Cons: The car was only 1/4 full of petrol. I prefer full because it’s easier to ensure it’s at the right level when I return it

Pros: It was a good car, in good condition

Cons: It took about 40 minutes to pick up the car in Edinburg and on its return in Glasgow a missing load cover was identified at the back of the car upon its return. I was never informed about this missing cover, nor did I receive one, which caused some inconvenience.

Pros: Everything was super clear. Pickup and drop off were both smooth. The agents were very friendly.

Cons: It was difficult to find the Alamo pickup point in Edinburgh. It's somewhere inside a parking garage. Needed to ask people that were working nearby for directions.

Pros: The car was brand new with 4 miles on it. The representative was efficient and had us on the road quickly.

Cons: The car only had a quarter tank of gas to start. I would prefer if all new rentals started with a full tank of gas and the expectation was to return the tank full.

Pros: Service was easy and fuss free. Credits to Ben from Edinburgh and Mitchell from Glasgow.

Cons: Car was a little dirty. There's old packet of potato chips in the glove compartment.

Cons: Unable to locate the office easily at Waverley (two desks - one at the car park “unmarked” and one at the station. Spent 3/4 hour wandering around with cases. Not ideal.

Pros: The staff were very welcoming and efficient in doing their job at both pick up and drop off locations, going through the process of looking at the car and giving information. Was given discount of half tank of fuel as car not cleaned on outside.

Cons: The information on where to pick up the car was initially confusing with email messages to go to station platform as well as the main office near the station. Platform office closed indefinitely. Online check in didn’t speed up the pick up process.

Pros: We did not get the car we booked. We have also been charged for some sccratches whereas we have insured the car with you. Please let us know how the claim can be done directly between alamo and discover and the insurance company.

Cons: There were fees of “special location pick up” added to the bill, which i didnt know about and never mentioned before

Pros: Murray was very professional at the drop off point at Glasgow Airport

Cons: The location of the pick-up desk/office in Edinburgh station is outdated on forms and lots of clients were mulling around the closed shop inside the station looking very confused. The pickup location is now at -2 level underground outside the station but no one tells you this during booking online.

Pros: They were good value for money compared to other companies, the staff were pleasant and helpful, we were very happy with the car we hired.

Cons: It was a dark building where we picked up our car in Edinburgh and it was hard to inspect the car properly.

Pros: The agents were super efficient and friendly. Everything moved smoothly and speedily when we eventually found the office.

Cons: The difficulty of getting to the office with luggage from Waverley. Poor signage and a long way to walk

Pros: From start to finish - faultless. The lovely chap we spoke to in Edinburgh (originally from Rochdale) was fantastic. Sorted us out quickly and without fuss. Didn’t make me feel like I was about to get hustled, or some “extras” were going to come back and bite me on the bum. He was great. Our train was cancelled so we just wanted to get home and he made sure it happened. So much so, I would consider hiring a car much more often, in future.

Cons: My initial deposit paid online was not taken into account as it didn’t show up in Alamo’s system. Was told to contact discovercars
