Cons: It took about 40 minutes to pick up the car in Edinburg and on its return in Glasgow a missing load cover was identified at the back of the car upon its return. I was never informed about this missing cover, nor did I receive one, which caused some inconvenience.

Cons: It was difficult to find the Alamo pickup point in Edinburgh. It's somewhere inside a parking garage. Needed to ask people that were working nearby for directions.

Cons: The car only had a quarter tank of gas to start. I would prefer if all new rentals started with a full tank of gas and the expectation was to return the tank full.

Cons: The information on where to pick up the car was initially confusing with email messages to go to station platform as well as the main office near the station. Platform office closed indefinitely. Online check in didn’t speed up the pick up process.

Pros: From start to finish - faultless. The lovely chap we spoke to in Edinburgh (originally from Rochdale) was fantastic. Sorted us out quickly and without fuss. Didn’t make me feel like I was about to get hustled, or some “extras” were going to come back and bite me on the bum. He was great. Our train was cancelled so we just wanted to get home and he made sure it happened. So much so, I would consider hiring a car much more often, in future.

Driver requirements
Minimum rental age is 25 years.
A Young driver fee is not applied.

There is no maximum age.
A Senior driver fee is not applied.

The driver license must have been issued by authorized authorities at least 1 year(s) before the date of the commencement of the rental.

In addition to the regular driver license, an International Driving Permit is also mandatory if the driver license is written in a language other than that of the renting country and/or in characters that cannot be read in the renting country.
For driver licenses from countries not party to the International Driving Permit treaty, an official translation of the license must be presented with the original license.
UK residents that hold a non-UK licence may drive in the UK for up to 12 months from the time they become a resident. After 12 months, the overseas licence will be deemed illegal in the UK and it must be exchanged for the UK equivalent.
Please note that the International Driving Permit is valid only if accompanied by the regular driver license.
A digital driver's license will not be accepted — you must bring your physical driving license.
In order to pick up the car, domestic renters must present the following documents: passport, valid driver license, credit card on a main drivers name, additional ID showing home address (e.g. Utility bill), proof of home address (e.g. Utility bill), ID with photo. In order to pick up the car, the renter and each additional driver must present the following documents: valid driver license, credit card on a main drivers name, Passport or ID card, booking voucher, flight information.
Deposit and deductible policy

Optional extras and services
Available special equipment: GPS Navigation system, Baby seat (up to 1 year of age), Child seat (2-4 years of age), Booster seat (4-10 years of age).

Delivery/Collection service is available only by previous request.
Delivery/Collection service is available within city limits. Additional charges will be applied, depending on the distance.
Fuel policy
The vehicle is provided with a certain amount of fuel and must be returned with the same amount in order to avoid additional charges.
Additional information
In case of renting at the airport location, the customer must provide a valid flight number in order to make a reservation.

Winter tires are recommended during the winter season but are not mandatory.
Snow chains are allowed in icy/snowy conditions.
Rental period
The maximum rental period per agreement is 28 days.
If the renter would like to extend the rental period, renter should return to the car hire office at the end of the rental period to sign a new agreement.
Business hours
The grace period will be honored only during business hours.
Period of time, during regular working hours, when the car is still guaranteed for the customer, if the customer is late for pick up (the grace period) is 29 minutes.
If the customer is late for a return for more than 29 minutes, extra day charges will apply, in addition to any other rental charges.
