Bangkok Don Mueang Airport (*removed Bangkok at the start) Don Mueang Airport is also sometimes also referred to as Don Muang Airport. In total, there are two airports serving Bangkok City. Don Mueang International Airport (DMK) and Suvarnabhumi International Airport (BKK) which are 44.2km apart. Don Mueang Aiport is considered a hub for budget airlines that fly both domestic and International within Asia.

Terminals

Terminal 1 serves international flights and a few domestic flights while Terminal 2 serves mostly domestic flights. The two terminals are very close to each other, but you’ll have to pass through customs if you want to walk between them.

Location

Bangkok Don Mueang Airport is about 24 km (15.5 mi) north of Bangkok city center. There is a paid highway from the airport to the city, which can save a lot of time. The toll is minimal and can help you beat the infamous Bangkok traffic. If you want to avoid paying the toll, there are alternative roads to take to the city which will be slightly longer.

You’ll find several coffee shops, fast food outlets, and restaurants serving both Thai and international cuisine, paid lounges, as well as souvenir shops, book shops, and convenience stores. The duty-free outlet is on the third floor of the international terminal, in the departures area.

There are also ATMs, banks with currency exchanges, a children’s play area, a medical center, a pharmacy, pay showers, a spa, a hair salon, mobile device charging spots, a post office, a lost and found office, an observation deck, an on-site hotel, and a Muslim prayer room.

Luggage storage is on the 1st floor of Terminal 2. Facilities at the airport are well equipped for passengers with reduced mobility. Special assistance is also offered, but if you’d like this service, make sure to let the airline know when booking your flight.

Nearest gas station

PTT Airport Branch 1 gas station has the same address as the airport. It can be reached in about five minutes and is open 24/7. There are many other gas stations near Bangkok Don Mueang Airport and on the way to the city.
