Malaga and the southern coastal region of Spain is a good area for sightseeing by car. We stayed in Marbella and we spent a lot of time driving also to other towns like Ronda, Seville, Nerja, etc. It makes good sense to also plan to drive tour Portugal which is Spain’s close neighbor. We stayed near the coast in Albufeira and drove to Cape St Vincent which is the most south-westerly point of Europe. We also visited Lagos which is a an enchanting port area with many eateries and interesting shorelines. While in Portugal, don’t miss the chance for a day trip to see and experience Lisbon. One can either drive tour or buy a bus day tour to take a break from long distance driving. All in all a wonderful time spent in these two amazing European countries. Extra tip: Rent a small SUV category car - it makes all the difference. We had a new-ish Nissan Qashqai and it was smooth cruising all the way.
