You will receive your rental car from Sixt. Follow the signs for "car rental", exit the terminal building from any exit and follow the covered walk-way. The walk-way leads past the Airport Plaza and the Edinburgh Tram stop, the Car Rental Centre is at the end of the walk-way. The car rental centre is located just 300m from the terminal. From international arrivals: You will receive your rental car from Sixt. Exit the terminal and walk alongside the front of the building past the bus stops, then follow the covered walk-way. Cons: For all rental car companies. Walking from the airport exit to the rental counter and walking from the car drop off point is very long, especially if one is traveling with an 84 year old. There should be instructions for the driver to be able to drop off travelers at the departure gate and not have to walk 10 minutes in the sun pushing luggage on rough pavement (not even a flat surface that wheels can roll easily).

Pros: reasonable price and the reception close to the airport
Cons: Their checks on the vehicle was not consistent. When I rented a car, there were no records on a rim damage and I just took some photos. When I returned the car, they pointed out the damage and regarded it as something I had made.

Rate includes
Free cancellation with a full refund up to 48 hours before your pick-up time, Mileage: 750 miles per rental, Loss Damage Waiver (damage deductible: ~€ 1840.00), Third Party Liability (TPL), Premium Location fee, Free modifications, State Tax.

The following surcharges may apply: Toll pass / E-toll device, Road tax, Premium Location surcharge, Vehicle License Fee.
Driver requirements
Minimum rental age is 21 years.
A young driver fee applies to drivers under the age of 28.
Maximum rental age is 75 years.
A Senior driver fee is not applied.
The driver license must have been issued by authorized authorities at least 1 year(s) before the date of the commencement of the rental.
For vehicles in groups Luxury, Special a driver license issued at least 3 years ago is required.
Driver licenses will be accepted if issued in the following country(ies): United Kingdom, EU.
UK residents that hold a non-UK licence may drive in the UK for up to 12 months from the time they become a resident. After 12 months, the overseas licence will be deemed illegal in the UK and it must be exchanged for the UK equivalent.
UK customers must bring their DVLA check code along with their photo ID. This check code can be obtained from the DVLA website.
A driver license printed using a non-Roman alphabet (Arabic, Japanese, Cyrillic, etc) must be supplemented by an International Driving Permit. Please note that the International Driving Permit is valid only if accompanied by the regular driver license. For driver licenses from countries not party to the International Driving Permit treaty, an official translation of the license must be presented with the original license.
Renters from the following country(ies): India must provide the following documents: International Driving Permit (IDP) in order to collect the car. Driver licenses from the following country(ies): China will be accepted only if the translation is approved by the Consulate or Embassy. In addition to documents mentioned previously, the customer will need the following: valid driver license, credit card on a main drivers name, Passport or ID card. Residents of the following country(ies): United Kingdom are required to present the following document(s): valid driver license, Passport or ID card, 2 proofs of home address (e.g. Utility bill), that is valid for at least 3 months before the pick up date in order to pick up the car.
