In the end I said no and checked my existing policy I went with at the time of purchasing through the third party and it was fine. The key fob also stopped working and when we came back to ask if the agent could provide a new battery he said he couldn’t do anything but that not to worry if we broke down he could get someone to pick us up. I said that’s not an option with 2 kids..

Car was also very dirty on the inside and had huge stain marks on the back seats. Will not be using their services again.

Cons: The staff were pushy to sell you extras and resorted to extremes to scare you into a sale. The car had 5 cracks in the windshield which is not only unsafe but a claim against the renter waiting to happen as a pot hole could cause the whole thing to shatter. Cracks are so cheap to fix there is no excuse. Our headlight went and took half a day to replace the car. The new car was worse with an engine that misfired (most likely faulty spark plugs) again a cheap fix but they don’t care.

I pleaded with manager for about 5 minutes and he finally agreed when I told him we may need go in his carpark.

When anyone complained or even raised the issue of the long wait time we were threatened with cancellation of the hire car. The car was not clean- we found a dead cockroach. Cons: The car broke down on the day after being collected, and I had to use taxis to get to important meetings! An RACQ mechanic was sent out to assist and got the car going for the rest of the rental period, but I was very nervous about it breaking down again, which really took the shine off my trip. I collected taxi receipts and handed them over when I returned the car, but it remains to be seen whether the costs will be refunded to me… I certainly hope so!

Cons: There were three main issues with the car. First, the light inside the car was not working. We had to use mobile phones at night inside the car. Second, the tire pressure symbol was always on for some reason. I checked the tire pressure in a servo and kept an eye the whole journey. But not sure what happened. Third, last day of the trip, we had issues locking the car. Not sure what happened. I checked if the doors were blocked or something but could not find out the problem.

Cons: Bargain Car Rentals are not open in time for 7am flights and are not honest about when they open. We got stuck in never ever land at their depot and nearly missed our flight. Luckily a kind person gave us a ride to airport

Cons: No one answers at the phone when we called to have some information during the renting

Pros: Air conditioning wasn’t working properly but I was lucky enough to have my son who is a mechanic and he fixed it the filter was just not installed properly

Pros: Said they would refund the hold of $500 that day, still hasn’t gone into my account

Pros: I like Bargain Car Rental except they only had two staffs to process bookings for about over ten people or families at the time. We had to wait outside in the sun lucky it wasnt raining because we couldnt all fit in their little office.

Cons: They said they dont know who Discovery Car is. they said you should refund the insurance money I paid Discovery Cars. Disc Cars don't have cars but Bargain Car Rental does. I paid for two insurances. WHY !!!!

Pros: fast efficient service, they clearly explained the procedure if there was a collision, as the insurance was taken through Discover Cars. Frequent minibus service to the airport, which is important to us.

Pros: They accommate all our needs. Including our last-minute requests. The had our best interests in mind the entire time. Incredibly friendly service, including the shuttle bus driver and the reception desk during pick up and drop off.

Cons: If possible, it would be more beneficial if the navigation option was built-in to the car's existing screen rather than a mobile unit (accessory). That said, the unit that was provided did the job.

Cons: Very disappointing I had filled out everything on line paperwork and paid, waited for about 20 minutes in line for people in front of me to do there paperwork finally got the keys and he just pointed at the car and said make sure you fill it up before you bring it back. When I took the car back, I parked it next minute one of the staff came over grabbed the keys out my hand not knowing if I had to sign any papers before going. I overheard a lady asking the question the answer was no

Pros: The car was clean and tidy and as expected. The assistants were friendly. My husband, however, said he felt harassed at the depot on pick up to make a quick decision about liability insurance due to the large queue of customers also waiting. If I had been there at the depot on pick up, I would have been able to clarify our payments. Instead, he paid for Bargain Car Rentals liability cover and now we are significantly out of pocket, ironic as we went with Discover Cars as you were cheaper.

Cons: High volume at the airport + only 1 shuttle meant confusion and frustration and big queues for waiting customers, us included. Bargain Rental Cars made a quick decision to transport only 1 member of each family to their depot so only my husband went. He then had to backtrack to the airport to pick up the rest of us and we had to navigate a lot of traffic and other passengers waiting to be picked up. Bargain Car Rentals should better plan their shuttle service as they know numbers in advance.

Pros: The return was slick. Timing perfect. Drove in, dropped off keys and straight into a shuttle. Complete contrast to arrival

Cons: Arrived at Coolangatta Airport and followed the directions. Called Bargain Rentals and waited for text Called 8 times. Couldn’t speak to anyone. In the end caught a taxi to Bargain cars at a cost of $45. Was told there was a problem for New Zealand phones for the last few months. That is a LOT of inconvenienced travellers !
