Alquicoche
Alquicoche is a large car rental company based in the ever-popular tourist destination of Spain. The company was founded in 2015 in Valencia, one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country. The company spent the next few years growing in Valencia and using its experience serving leisure travelers to prepare for the expansion that would come later.
In 2021, Alquicoche expanded to its first locations outside of Valencia. Specifically, the company opened rental offices in Benidorm, Denia, and Malaga —all of these cities are located along the southern coast of the country near Valencia. They are all also popular with tourists who flock to the coast to enjoy the warm sunny weather and beaches in the summer.
In 2022, Alquicoche opened rental offices in Madrid and Alicante. The company has corporate locations serving the airports of these cities. Alquicoche has also expanded via a franchise model. The company has many locations in the center of cities, near train stations, in addition to airports across Spain. Many of these locations are franchisees.
Alquicoche has an extensive fleet of vehicles at its popular airport locations. The vehicles available for travelers range from small mini cars to medium-sized cars, through to SUVs and luxury vehicles. Those traveling with a larger family or in larger groups will find minivans and larger passenger vans available from the company. Almost anyone traveling to Spain will find the company has a vehicle to suit their needs.
The company has a minimum and maxim rental age that varies by location. You must be at least 20 or 21 years of age to rent a car through them. You also must be under 75 or 70 years old. Be sure to check the rental conditions before booking to know the exact requirements. The company, like most in Spain, charges additional fees for younger and older drivers (Young and Senior Driver Fees). The amount of this fee varies as does the ages of renters to which it is charged.
Many renters have trouble with the security deposit when picking up their vehicles. Specifically, they don’t realize that a credit card is required by many rental companies. Luckily, if you don’t have a credit card, Alquicoche is one of the companies that will accept a debit card for leaving the security deposit.
With Alquicoche, you’re allowed to take the vehicle outside of Spain, but only to Andorra, France and Portugal, Spain's immediate neighbors. You will be charged an additional fee for taking the car outside of Spain (and need to let the company know in advance). If you plan a long road trip through Europe, then you’ll have to find a different supplier. If you’re planning an international one-way trip either starting or ending in Spain, then you’ll also need to find another supplier, one of the larger international brands. This is because Aliquocoche only has locations in Spain. One-way rentals may be possible within Spain with the company depending on where you intend to pick up and drop off the vehicle. The best way to find out if this is so is to enter your desired pick-up and drop-off locations when searching.
