As revealed by its name, this car hire company operates in the southeastern European country of Greece, one of the most visited and diverse destinations of the continent. The company has hire points all over the country in its largest cities and on many of the islands, with Crete being no exception. Found in 2011, Dirent claims to have the largest network of car hire points of any independent car hire company in the country.

Dirent, like most hire companies, usually doesn’t allow its cars to be taken onboard ferries between the islands and never allows it for cars hired on Corfu or Crete. If you plan to visit multiple islands, it’s better to book a separate rental car for each. This will also save you money on the costs of taking a vehicle onboard a ferry.
