The original cathedral of Vigo was burnt down during the 16th century by the English, but its reincarnation, which dates back to the first half of the 19th century, is one of the important examples of religious architecture in the city. The cathedral combines neoclassical and baroque elements and has the title of Co-Cathedral which it shares with an important and beautiful church in the town of Tui.
