Pros: Was offered a free upgrade which was much appreciated, especially as I had my toddler with me and benefitted from the extra space. Drop off was especially quick and easy.

Cons: Gatwick north terminal car rental desks are shut for apparently due to refurbishment works, and the transfer between terminals was not very easy.

Pros: They did not have a long wait

Cons: The Sixt customer service agent was rude. I arrived 2 hours late because my flight was delayed and the agent asked me why I arrived late. He proceeded to treat me in a "superior" attitude and the car he gave me was not appropriate. He would not give me a car that was and I ended up having to pay $200 more for a better car. I will never use Sixt again. I have rented many cars and never have had any problems like I encountered. I have never had to post a disagreement. This was unprofessional.

Pros: The service we received upon pick-up at Gatwick airport was excellent. Adam was professional, courteous and ensured we received our car within a timely manner. Thank you so much, Adam!

Cons: The customer service we received at Glasgow Airport when dropping off the car was less to be desired. Although we had paid for full liability coverage, Sebastian wasted over 1/2 hour of our time as he took pictures of small scratches on the back bumper of the car. We asked to leave to catch our flight, but he insisted that we needed to stay as he did his inspection. We should have been able to sign the hand-off immediately upon our arrival and left and then he could have done his inspection.

Rate includes
Free cancellation with a full refund up to 48 hours before your pick-up time, Mileage: 750 miles per rental, Loss Damage Waiver (damage deductible: ~€ 1850.00), Third Party Liability (TPL), Premium Location fee, Free modifications, State Tax.
Rate excludes
The following surcharges may apply: Toll pass / E-toll device, Road tax, Premium Location surcharge, Vehicle License Fee.
Driver requirements
Minimum rental age is 21 years.
A young driver fee applies to drivers under the age of 28.

Maximum rental age is 75 years.
A Senior driver fee is not applied.

The driver license must have been issued by authorized authorities at least 1 year(s) before the date of the commencement of the rental.

For vehicles in groups Luxury, Special a driver license issued at least 3 years ago is required.
Driver licenses will be accepted if issued in the following country(ies): United Kingdom, EU.
UK residents that hold a non-UK licence may drive in the UK for up to 12 months from the time they become a resident. After 12 months, the overseas licence will be deemed illegal in the UK and it must be exchanged for the UK equivalent.
UK customers must bring their DVLA check code along with their photo ID. This check code can be obtained from the DVLA website.

A credit check is mandatory for local customers at the time of pick up.
Customers are only allowed to rent only if they agree to a credit check and their credit score is satisfactory.
A driver license printed using a non-Roman alphabet (Arabic, Japanese, Cyrillic, etc) must be supplemented by an International Driving Permit. Please note that the International Driving Permit is valid only if it is accompanied by a regular driver's license, is issued by an official authority or government-authorized organization, and is in physical (not digital) form. For driver licenses from countries not party to the International Driving Permit treaty, an official translation of the license must be presented with the original license. Renters from the following country(ies): India must provide the following documents: International Driving Permit (IDP) in order to collect the car. Driver licenses from the following country(ies): China will be accepted only if the translation is approved by the Consulate or Embassy. In addition to documents mentioned previously, the customer will need the following: valid driver license, credit card on a main drivers name, Passport or ID card. Residents of the following country(ies): United Kingdom are required to present the following document(s): valid driver license, Passport or ID card, 2 proofs of home address (e.g. Utility bill), that is valid for at least 3 months before the pick up date in order to pick up the car.
Deposit and deductible policy



If the customer takes the following extra equipment: GPS Navigation system, Baby seat (up to 1 year of age), Child seat (2-4 years of age), Booster seat (4-10 years of age), Mobile tablet, Cell phone, then an additional amount of deposit will be held on their credit card.
Cross-border policy
Crossing country borders is allowed to the following countries: Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain-Mainland, Sweden, Switzerland.
Crossing country borders is allowed by previous request and for an additional charge of 42 GBP per day, with a maximum charge of 300 GBP per rental.
Using a ferry is allowed on the previous request and for an additional charge of 45 GBP per rental.
Written permission from the rental company is required.

Crossing country borders with Luxury, Minivan, Premium, Special is not allowed to the following country(ies): Andorra, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland. In the event that Cross Border & Territorial Restrictions are violated, all protections lose their validity.
For cross-border travel in all other countries, written permission from the car rental company is required.
Optional extras and services
Available special equipment: GPS Navigation system, Baby seat (up to 1 year of age), Child seat (2-4 years of age), Booster seat (4-10 years of age).

Adding additional drivers is allowed.
There is an additional charge for each driver.
Underage additional drivers are subject to both Young Driver and Additional Driver fees.
When picking up the vehicle, all drivers must be present and must provide valid documentation.

Fuel policy
The vehicle is provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with the same amount in order to avoid additional charges.
Alternatively, the renter may purchase a tank full of fuel at the time of rental and return the tank empty.
In no case will a refund be given for unused fuel.
Additional information
Winter tires are recommended during the winter season but are not mandatory. Snow chains are allowed in icy/snowy conditions.
Business hours
Service outside of business hours is available by request and for an additional charge.
Period of time, during regular working hours, when the car is still guaranteed for the customer, if the customer is late for pick up (the grace period) is 59 minutes.
