Charlottesville Airport is about 10 mi (16.1 km) north of Charlottesville. US-29 / Seminole Trail, US-250, and Park Street are the main roads connecting the airport to the city.

Car rental desks

All of the rental desks are located near the baggage claim area in the terminal. The cars themselves are in the parking lot just outside of the terminal. There are no shuttles to be taken or long walks.

Services and facilities

The airport is quite small, but you’ll find a bar, a coffee shop, fast food outlets, a sandwich bar, a gift shop, ATMs, and baby changing rooms. The airport is accessible to travelers with reduced mobility, and wheelchairs are available on request. Special assistance is available, but be sure to contact your airline in advance if you’d like this service. Keep in mind that the airport is open from 4:00 a.m. until the day’s last flight when it closes for the night.

Nearest gas station

The best station at which to fill up before returning a rental car to the airport is an Exxon station on Seminole Trail (Highway 29) right before the turn to the airport. There is also a BP station on the other side of the road, but it is difficult to get back to Airport Rd. from it.

If coming from the north, there is a Shell station in the village of Camelot. It is about 3.5 miles from the rental car returns.
