Airport travel guide
Hire a car at Santa Cruz das Flores Airport. This beautiful island is all about enjoying the outdoors, so drive your hire car straight to one of the Lajes das Flores beaches or to the rocky Fajã Grande Beach. Swim in natural tidal pools at Santa Cruz, spend a day at the Morro Alto and Pico do Se Natural Forest Reserve, visit one of the diving centres, or hike in the canyons.
In the town of Lajes, check out the Matriz da Lomba Church. In Santa Cruz, the Flores Museum and the Ponta do Albernaz Lighthouse are fun places to visit. So is the Boqueirao Environmental Interpretation Center, to learn about the area’s natural history. And you’re sure to have an excellent time on a whale watching tour.
Flores is a wonderful destination, so why not stay longer and explore more? With a longer-term car hire deal, you can visit the island’s less touristy areas and see how the locals live. If your car hire provider permits it, you can even take a ferry to one of the other Azores islands. It’s easy to pick up your hire car at Santa Cruz das Flores Airport and drop it off at a different location. Start planning your adventure today!
Santa Cruz das Flores Airport is also known as Flores Airport, Santa Cruz Airport, and Aeroporto das Flores.

Special assistance is also available, but make sure to contact your airline at least 48 hours before arrival if you’d like this service. Keep in mind that the airport is only open from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. every day.
Nearest petrol station
There is a Galp petrol station located across the street for the airport; therefore, you don't have to worry about founding a station before you reach the airport.
