Ouarzazate Airport is a small airport in the Saharan desert of Morocco. It can be reached from France or by connecting through Casablanca or Marrakech. Though Ouarzazate is the largest town in the Moroccan part of the Sahara, there is not all that much in the city to be seen. Most travel to the city for the sights in the surrounding area. 

For example, the airport is also the closest to the Dades Gorges, stunning gorges that you can drive through on narrow roads. The Atlas Studios, the filming set of many famous films, is also a popular reason tourists flock to the city. It is actually around 4km outside of it, though. Therefore, it is unsurprising that most visitors to the area hire a car to reach the sights they come for.

There are a number of petrol stations in the city of Ouarzazate, and given its size, they are all close to the airport. If coming from the west along the N9 motorway, a Station Afriqua located on the roundabout where you exit onto Avenue Moulay Abdellah to get to the airport is the most convenient station.

If approaching from the north, a Station Total is the best one to stop at. This station is located right at the start of the town. Finally, from the south, Station Winxo and a Shell Station located on the N9 are the best stations.

Flew in to Ouarzazate airport. Car was an excellent drive, easy to drive, quick enough for a small car. Comfortable. I drove to Merzouga, five hours away, as i had volunteered at a bird ringing project based there. No problem with the car at all. I would recommend them every time.
