Smart Rent Aruba at Oranjestad Airport

Pros: The communication was good and the pick up and drop off service from the airport work well.

Cons: My family of 4 were picked up from the airport in a van, which was what I assumed was used to transport customers from the airport to the rental place. It was only when we arrived at the rental location. It became clear that there is a beat up van will be transported in with our rental for the 12 days we were there. One of the sliding doors didn’t work. The coolant red indicator light came on intimately the seats and dash were in poor condition on the charger and Radio did not work

Cons: We booked the car and paid a down payment and when we arrived in Aruba they said that they don’t have the car that they we booked then proceeded to not get a car and did not receive a refund for the Down payment we put. I was ripped if I would NEVER use this ever again and NEVER refer this to anyone

Cons: When paying this much for a car I don't want it to have huge stickers on it with advertisement. Also the car was very old already.

Cons: They didn’t specify you need to call them to get picked up from the airport. We waited yore some time. During drop off the indicated, there was a scratch that we caused (which we were able to prove we didnt with a photo we took before the pick up) which was some thing that would have been a non-issue with other car companies. Luckily, we were able to prove we didn’t cause it and evaded a charge.

Cons: Car conditions (very old and dirty). It didn't appear to be a rental car. I only kept the car because after a long trip I had no option. On the other hand, Regina's service (attendant) was great.

Pros: when we first got to smart rent they gave us a free upgrade to a very nice and new car. They told us that we were not allowed to go to the national parks. The next day we went to the kitebeach and on return the car did not start cause we were out of the allowed area. They came to take the car and gave us a really really old car.

Cons: the old car was fine, but not very clean, no sound system and we had to pay the full price. they even wanted to charge us a fine for going out of the area (it was a paved road und we were on the parking lot. not at all off road)

Pros: The only positive part of the rental was the employees were courteous and apologized for experience

Pros: Car we received was in bad condition. But an agent exchanged the car next day when we found out flat tire.

Pros: It was efficient, located close to the airport and offered reasonable value for the money.

Cons: The first car offered had mechanical problems. After my complained it was exchanged for a better car in much better condition.

Cons: The car I got at the rental was very damaged and have been in a mayor accident, wheel alignment was off and a lots of damage on the front

Pros: The employees are very helpful and friendly.

Cons: Some of the car are quite old, the first one we rented at the second day we were driving it, the aircon just stopped working. We called the company and they brought us a new car in literally 20minutes. The service provided by these employees made up for whatever small issue the car might have. Considering the price you pay, it's fair. Car was not brand new but did bring us from point A to point B.

Cons: No automatic window, no automatic Doors, a lot of damaged, the tailgate rubber was to small so it was diffecult to close it. In the netherlands it was not allowed to drive in this car.

This was 1 exactly not what they decribe you will have to do in their paperwork which states," Refundable security deposit US$ 500.00 (~£ 375.00)A deposit will be blocked on the customer's credit card until the end of the rental period.At time of pick up, customers will be required to pay the amount of the rental and the depo

Cons: Once the car didn't start. Problem was solved by a passenger. The battery was disconnected.

Pros: The car had some scratches and bumps - but they were all fully recorded on the paperwork and made absolutely no difference to my usage

Cons: They started at the airport at arrival that they had a family and that they want to go home asa possible/and in fact that we had to pay extra. Although they knew our ETA and the plane was in time. Smart Rent never again, discover is not to blame.

It’s hot at airport but not far and they were efficient. My only dislike was that it was a little out-of-the-way to find a drop off.
