The woman who gave me the car was VERY pushy about selling their own insurance and told several times that you will have consequences of not choosing ours, you just think you have an insurance but really you don't" etc. when returning the car which was parked in a garage every evening they claimed there was a damage on the roof. I couldn't see it as I am small and my photos didn't show.

Cons: The guy who took the car back knew where the damage was on the top of the car. He was purposely searching for it for over five minutes as it is so small. They charged me 1000 Euros there and then but only sent an invoice after I emailed them to sue them and report them to the tax authority. Shocking experience, still shaken by it, ruined my entire holiday. They are fraudsters. They should be taken off of the list of reliable providers.

Pros: Car i agreed to rent never existed in theyre line up, nobody answered the phone for airport pick up so took a cab, agent never went over the vehicle with me and said to take pictures if i see any issues with the car’s condition, got charged 250 euros for border crossing even though i was under the impression that the regular charge was paidd upfront . So it is 100% certain i will not be returning and will make sure to strear my friends away from them too

Pros: The agent Jozsef threatened not to accept my rental if I did not take out their insurance policy at 2am. Then he threatened not to accept my credit card, which only had my initial on it for my first name despite evide.He also threatened that if I did not have the car fully valeted when I returned it they would charge me extortionately for a valet. In my experience as long as the car did not have any damage and was easily ‘cleanable’ it should not be valeted by the customer before returning it.

However, the person who took us in charge told us we were obligated to pay extra for full coverage because there is no base insurance on the car and the credit card would not cover in Hungary. It is a shame!!! We were forced to pay around 47€ a day extra (total 94€) to pick up the car. Really bad experience.

I had no phone to call them, was busy at the office and it was very slow getting the car. Gas tank was only half full ,got the car I picked not realizing it was a car with a lawnmower engine. It had few issues or should i say annoying things, having to re set lane and speed sensor from going off every time you started the thing, the 990cc engine might work in the city with only 1-2 persons

Drop off: It took us 20 minutes from the moment we drove in to the moment we were dropped off at the airport. Even though we did not buy the special package, the return was smooth. The car general condition was very nice, we ordered an Toyota Aygo and got upgrade an Opel Corsa.

However when we returned the car they suddenly found several more scratches thus charging us thousands of euros. When I asked for the manager, they refused.

Versicherung vor Ort für ca. € 190.00 oder man trägt bei allfälligen Schäden die Kosten selbst und man bezahlt noch €57.00 darauf + Autobahnvignette (laut Beraterin ca. € 40.00, laut Internet max. CHF 19.09 für 10 Tage).

Cons: They basically "extort" an additional fee via services that are completely bogus, but unless you can fork a 2400euro+ safety deposit (which not all credit cards cover btw), you are forced to pay money for nothing, overall completely upsetting the initial cost. Also, I don't appreciate being asked for a Tripadvisor review on the spot when I return the car, in their presence and influence. It is anything but professional + makes me greatly question all the 5 star ratings I read prior to booking.

Cons: Personell totally unexperienced, unprofessional. They asked if we would leave Hungary and we said maybe for 1 day. They charged us for the full time of the rent. In the end due to health issues we could not go abroad, still they have not paid back the money charged. This we find totally unacceptable.

Cons: After a late night flight all you want is to get the car and start your travel. Instead the rep pushes you really hard to purchase their own insurance! The car I got had dozens of scratches/defects all over and I had to mark and picture each and every one of them. It gets much worse when they give you a 10cm ruler and you have to mark the size of each defect. After 20mins I broke as I couldn't imagen doing it on my return so I purchased Klass Wagen rent and full coverage for ~130Eur more

Cons: They push you to buy their insurance once you get to the office which is off the airport. You get presented with 2 options - 1 buy their insurance (which costs more than the rental itself and non refundable) or leave a large deposit (€2800) and you have to cover any damage for the car. They also take €100 in case of any fines. Overall I spent most of my week worrying about the car. It was quite stressful. Read reviews before booking.

Cons: I don't like that the fuel tank isn't full at pick up, so you don't know how much you should put in when dropping off. Therefore twice I got vouchers for putting more fuel into the car ( about AU$100). However, it can be used only next time when I rent DIRECTLY from Klass Wagen - which is at the higher rate and may never happen as I'm from Australia. I feel that is not fair. Could rent the car for a month only initially, so when I wanted to extend prices were much higher, unacceptable for me.

Cons: BUD-126472328324 Used to be my favourite car rental company, rented from them many times before. Now, something has changed. The price of their 'full insurance' is a joke, almost twice as the price as your rental. Even worse, how aggressively they are trying to sell that cover. Showing you pictures of a small dent saying that something like that will cost you $600 to repair! Seriously? It's time to look for alternative options.

Pros: Easy pickup and drop-off - car worked well. They treated us very well and I would reccomend them as well as rent from them again.

Cons: I was not happy that they didn't go with Discover Cars contract. They agreement between Discover Cars and the rental car companies needs to be improved greatly. Or stop the agreement altogether. So renters are not left thinking they have no choice but to ignore the previous agreement and go with the rental companies agreement. Overall Klass Wagen is a good company to deal with aside from the previous comments.

Cons: A terrible experience at Budapest airport. The company did not keep the price that I got from discovercars web site....it was a shock for me,I have never had the situation like this. Instead the price I got from the website 407.45 CAD , I should pay 438 EUR ! Because the KW did not want ro rent me the car, that I was offered by discoverecars website , I rejected it and cancelled my booking. I rented the car with a different provider at the airport.

It would be more assured having full casco but the rates are bit exagerated, it feels like they want to make their profit via the 'casco insurance

Cons: The language barrier and the costs are different to what is advertised on the website. Massive smelly spill in the boot of the car; someone had attempted to clean it previously, but it was still obvious. The car wasn't filled with petrol as I was told, but I returned it with the same amount of petrol missing was it was ok. The car has an automatic lane sensor that can't be turned off, which is unhelpful on highways when frequently changing lanes.

Also using a black light to check for damage on a car beyond the naked eye is also idiotic. I realize this is a way to scam people for money. Sadly we were taken advantage of. We brought the car back exactly how we got it other than some rain water on it. We travel a lot for business and so do our friends. I will NEVER recommend Klass Wagen.

Cons: The arrogant attitude of the agent when picking up the car was a real downer. She was unfriendly and not at all service-minded when some issues arose. You should also consider one thing when renting a car from Klasswagen Hungary. If you get a car with a Romanian licence plate (40 per cent of their cars are registered in Romania) you will pay double the price for fuel since cars registered outside Hungary do not benefit from the fuel price cap introduced by the Hungarian government.
