Cons: Booking online I purchased the “full cover” which when we came to pay the remaining balance on pick up it was far higher because the insurance wasn’t adequate. We were ripped off basically. The car I booked was a medium Peugeot and we got a Opel Crossland which was a lot smaller inside. Totally dissatisfied.
Pros: Car covered in damage that we had to check, so bad that we had to take the extra insurance out as we knew they would make out we had also damaged the car.
Cons: The girl on the counter was very pushy for the insurance, telling us we were liable for ££££ if there was any damage. Telling us that they were the cheapest!

Cons: They’d moved from the car park back into terminal after 3 years and we weren’t informed

Cons: The service was great. The car was having a tough time on hills and was moving pretty slow
Pros: The team was nice and helpful, they spoke French, Spanish and English. They were happy to help with sat nav, eventually, provided us with a phone holder, so I could use my own sat nav in my phone.
Pros: It was the most economical.
Cons: The service at the check in desk was very slow. Once the insurance was added on and extras it ended up twice the price advertised. I will look more carefully next time.

Pros: Drop off was fast. Staff in collection and drop off parking lot were good.
Cons: Agent told us we would be charged in our currency, not in euros and this would cost an additional €160. He lied and said his system would not allow him to charge us in €. Since we were in France, we insisted and he eventually charged us in €. Agent aggressively tried selling us additional insurance. He wanted to charge us an extra €261. We already had full insurance from discovercars.com. Collection staff had no customer service skills
Pros: Pick up agent was extremely nice even though the process is slow. Car was to a high standard.
Cons: Poorly marked drop off point - led to unfair late fee. Pick up took over 90 minutes.
Pros: The person at the desk was pleasant but would not let us have a car because I didn't have an international driving licence
Cons: They were completely rigid. Computer says no.
Cons: Goldcar (alone of all the rental agencies at Toulouse airport) refused to accept perfectly valid UK paper licence, resulting in my having to rent last minute with Avis at significantly greater expense.

Cons: It took ages to get served. I was waiting for a long time. I bought full insurance from a 3rd party and was then told by Goldcar that it was totally invalid, therefore I had to pay more than €100 on insurance alone (which more than doubled my overall cost). Very unimpressed by this from both Goldcar and the 3rd Party (Disover Cars)
Pros: Very friendly efficient staff
Cons: Scam. We were told that insurance was €50 per day (the actual car rental was €35 per day) and that if we didn't take out the insurance we would need to make a €1600 payment which would be refunded, minus any amount for any damages.. BUT they wouldn't let us pay the €1600 with AMEX or Monzo and told us that we'd likely pay hundreds in transaction fees even if the full €1600 was returned. They really tried to scare us into this extortionate insurance. We walked away and booked with another company

Cons: They refused to find solutions to me not carrying a phisical card, pretty much forced me into a solution which involved paying 3 times the price of my original booking, when for example my wife had a card debitting the exact same account as mine, which I could prove. I literally felt robbed.
Pros: Nice car. Pickup staff at the end seemed down to earth.
Cons: Despite having the order confirmed online, everything had to be reevaluated at pick up. Very confusing and I felt like easy prey. Didn’t have snow chains that I ordered.

Cons: We got a free upgrade to a hybrid, but the gas mileage was actually quite poor. The car was not as clean inside as it should have been, the wiper blades needed replaced, the battery(hybrid) had almost no charge, and one rear reverse light did not function.

Cons: DO NOT HIRE THROUGH GOLDCAR. Charged €260 for non existent scratch. They took €374 without any communication as to why this amount was taken. Having contacted customer service was told extra was for cleaning due to tabacco use. Lies. I don't smoke, I am 5 months pregnant and my 8 yr old daughter was travelling in the car with us. Customer service is non existent and emails are all noreply. SCAM. Still trying to get a response from them and they've removed my ability to review them.
Cons: Have me a car with at least 40 scratches then "found" one that they say might not have been there before. They said they would be in touch and did not ...instead they took £110 from my account without saying

Cons: absolutely appalled by their attempt to increase the price and a completely vile business model - they try to get you to take out very costly cover in addition by having ridiculous reapir charges eg 250 euros for a scratch of 2cm!!!

Cons: My DiscoverCars deposit was NOT deducted from the rental charge. I have had to raise an incident report in relation to this and that I was charged for Kms in excess of 500, despite paperwork showing unlimited mileage chosen.

Cons: APPALLING, THEY RIPPED ME OFF. ALL OTHER CAR HIRE OPERATORS ACCEPT A DEBIT CARD, GOLDSTAR CHARGED £200 FOR 3 DAYS HIRE AS I ONLY HAD A DEBIT CARD
Pros: They gave us a Fiat panda, which was nice to drive and used very little petrol. The handover at the ned of the hire was easy with no arguments or unexpected charges.
Cons: The staff member tried very hard to sell me an extra insurance for about 100 euros, even though I showed her my full coverage voucher. She told me that it was extremely unlikely that, if the car was damaged, that I would ever get reimbursed, because repairs were not done immediately, several weeks would pass before I got the invoice, and by that time I would have passed the last date for making a claim on the voucher. Goldcar have a terrible reputation for behaving in this way.

Cons: Agent in airport was heavy insurance sales orientated. He flashed a "price list" of all the possible things which could go wrong to bully accepting. He wouldnt give me a copy of the list. It incouded things like repolacement tyres €180 but I woulod need two tyres etc etc. Put me on edge from the start.
Pros: Really helpful rental agent at car hire desk
Pros: Good car for money. We were given a Citroen, which some models, I don’t like, but this model was okay. Also I am nearly six four and my head did not touch the roof for a change. A little tight trying to get into driving seat but otherwise ok.

Pros: It took 1.5 hours to collect our car though I had pre-booked. I was advised by the agent that the booking holder name needed to be the same as the name on the card which was not told to me at the time of the booking. I was able to pay the deposit with this car so why now is it changing? The agent could not amend or accept this despite the cardholder being an additional driver and told us we had to leave the desk and call to change the account name.
Cons: Finally we could speak to the agent again and a while later we were told about the full insurance. I showed that we had already booked and paid for this and he told us that was incorrect so we had to pay an extra unexpected £150. All of these issues wasted a lot of time, making us late and made a bad start to our holiday. I will highly un-recommend this
