EastCoast Car Rentals at Launceston Airport

Pros: Never ever again. I’d rather pay more for a car & be treated like a human and feel safe.

Cons: Very little to dislike, not their fault but a seemingly 'dim whitted' couple ahead of us were very demanding, didn't understand the process and so asked so many questions and argued with them that it was a very long process to get our car. Again, NOT THEIR FAULT ! They were patient beyond what I would have been. I didn't really appreciate the hard sell on insurance, I already had QANTAS insurance that would pay way more than their excess but in a desperate attempt to get on the road, we did

Pros: Super friendly staff. Upgraded for free in which we were super appreciative of. Hyundai venue was so fuel efficient and would Def recommend this car - boot space small though but enough to fit 1 LG and 1 SM suitcase. Kids loved the sunroof. Super easy to drive, maps great, lights great. Fantastic customer service. Thankyou :)

Cons: Lots of scratches on the black car, window wipers needed replacing as squeaking straight away

Cons: Had to wait 1 hr to be picked up as office opened at 8am and flight landed at 7am. Technical difficulty in office once there which took approx 1hr to finalise payment and pick up car.

Pros: the guys provided us with an upgrade for the car. The price was far better than all other companies and they were very thorough in their processing.

Cons: Nearly hopeless outside after hours. No shuttle before 8am.

Pros: Shuttle bus from and to the airport. Thorough inspection with photos before and after rental.

Pros: Efficient staff and lovely vehicle- shuttle and driver was waiting for us at airport even when flight was delayed

Cons: Shuttle transfer required made process tedious and I was 'upsold' cover effectively paying much more than originally planned for when combined with prepaid amount on Discover Cars website.

Pros: Clean car, went well. Pleasant enough other than the insurance issue.

Cons: I purchased insurance via discover cars only then to get pressured into buying some at the rental yard, so effectively paid twice for insurance. It wasn't good the way it was very high pressure ... on the spot, when you've just flown in with kids etc. Discover cars abound maybe not sell the insurance so it's isnt a duplicate.

Cons: When requesting (thru email) an extension to my contract no assistance or accommodations were achieved.

Cons: As we rented from third party even though we took full cover insurance east coast car rentals did not acknowledge it and asked us to take insurance or pay heavy amount if any incident happens. Didnt had peace of mind even though payed for full insurance

Cons: It's good but there is a lot of pressure put on the car insurance issue with very high excesses unless you over double pay the original rental rate.

Pros: Staff was nice, all went by the plan. Car was a bit older (>100k km) which I prefer.

Cons: Efficiency - it took 10-15 minutes to do the paperwork.

Pros: The representative was really efficient. I had my car in less than 10 minutes. Everything was clear and the car was great.

Cons: It would be nice to have a desk at the airport or at least some informations about how to find the company as I had to ask another company to know I had to call them. It wasn't obvious.

Cons: staff at pick up did not explain things properly, and had a negative style of communication. we paid for extra insurance so that we could have peace of mind, but the staff member made us feel worried that there was going to be a high risk of additional expenses and difficulties

Cons: Beware of the upsell, we got charged extra to be upgraded to a Corolla even though we specifically said we didn’t want one... then he said it was complimentary and we were left wondering why our charge was more expensive than quoted. We have also had very little information regarding our security deposit being released, as we’ve had to call up twice. Pretty shady company in our experience.
