The bad wash and poor lighting conditions to inspect the car made me feel at risk and very uncomfortable. The initial service had not been done according to the sticker on the windscreen and this made me feel Louie I was trashing a new car. Help setting up apple car play and supplying the appropriate cords would have been helpful. As I lost a day.

Cons: There seemed to be a minor miscommunication between the booking agent (email) and depot staff. I advised in advance via email that we were travelling with large bike bags and was assured this would be ok. But when we were picked up from the airport the shuttle bus operator had not been informed, and there was not enough luggage space in the rear of the van. Lucky for us we had the shuttle to ourselves and were able to fit all of the bags using some of the seats.

They all bunched up under the gas peddle and and brake control making it dangerous for the controls of the vehicle. Other car rentals simply don’t provide any mats, the factory ones are the proper ones to have but they have a tendency to disappear (customers take them I been told). None factory ones end up what I described above. Strongly recommend not providing mats.

Pros: I arrived a day earlier than booked and Michael and Chelsea at Bargain car rentals were so helpful finding a car for me. I paid for the extra day. I let Discover cars know that my four days had been advanced by one day so that my insurance cover could be rectified. As I had no need to call on insurance I don't know if that was recorded. When I returned the car within the four days Bargain car rentals refunded the extra day although I had not asked for the refund. I felt very well cared for.

Unfortunately that email address would not accept emails and I thought I had to pick up the car at Launceston Airport next morning. When I arrived, none of the car hire staff had heard of Discover Cars. I then had to hire a car from another car hire company. I could not give more notice of cancellation, because I booked late at night for the following day.

That proved not possible and put some pressure upon us to drive around at the end of our trip putting in small amounts of petrol. A sat nav in the car would have been useful. We used the navigation system on our phones but a full screen in the car would have improved the experience. That should be a given with car hire these days not an added extra.
