Cicar
Cicar is a car rental company in the Canary Islands of Spain. The name is short for Canary Islands Car. The company was founded way back in 1967 and has been operating in the archipelago ever since. In the beginning, it had a fleet of just six cars in Lanzorante. The company started to meet the growing demand of tourists starting to visit the island. In 1989, Cicar expanded to the rest of the Canary Islands. The company still focuses on serving tourists in the island group and hasn’t expanded outside of it nor sold to a larger company in the years since. It is also a major economic boost to the islands, employing over 1,000 people in total.
Cicar has a vast fleet in locations across the Canary Islands. It consists of new vehicles of all types — this includes mini cars, midsize cars, full-size cars, SUVs, luxury cars, convertibles, minivans, passenger vans, and more. The company has more than 15,000 vehicles in total.
