AmiGO Rent a Car at Liberia Airport

Pros: The agent was great and pick up was relatively easy once we got in contact with them, but it is a little inconvenient that they didn’t have a desk at the airport.

Cons: Employees were knowledgeable and responsive.

Cons: Airport pick up was late by 30 minutes. Instructions stated to look for sign with our name but no agent/sign at airport. Another airport agent helped us by making a call to Amigo for airport shuttle pick up.

Cons: They charged for insurance very high. Even though I had coverage from my insurance. Make sure if rent a car get a written letter from bank that you are covered. I showed them but did not except. Get written letter!

Cons: The only problem I had is you need to either know or provide the fact that you have to have full coverage with their company as well as yours. It cost me an extra $157 for coverage in Costa Rica.

Pros: Good and frendly staff and efficient pick up snd drpping.

Cons: The car I renten was significantly larger than the car I ordered. The price was the same, but the size of the car was not an adantage.

Pros: Prompt pick up from the airport, super helpful staff, excellent vehicle, easy drop off, fair price, couldn’t ask for more. Would definitely rent from AmiGO again.

Cons: The whole arrangement between Discover Cars and AmiGo is veeeeeery sketchy. I wouldn’t ever recommend this to anyone because I basically got scammed $113 for insurance when AmiGo charges their own insurance not associated with Discover Cars.

Cons: The car we got initially wasn't in very good condition. But we got a very good replacement when we drive it back.

Cons: Terrible service. I tried 2 different times to talk to an agent in person at the Tamarindo office and there was no one there both times. My gps was in Dutch and I couldn’t navigate thru settings to change to English. Went to office for help . No one there and I was charged $550 for a system I was never able to use. I had a problem with tve driver door key . It wouldn’t lock. I we t to office ( drive an hour) . Sign in door “be back soon”. There was no parking/ I had a surfboard couldn’t park far

Cons: The car wasn’t put together very well at pickup, the trunk bed area is extremely noisy

Cons: Horrible rental experience. Had to stand out in the heat for 30 minutes before someone came to pick us up from the airport to the rental. Then took over an hour to rent the car even though it was empty. They charged us $200 extra fee for the car. They falsely marked there was a full tank of gas when there was only 3/4 and then when I brought it back at 7/8 they charged me $13. Horrible rental service would not recommend to anyone ever.

Pros: All the staff were courteous and knowledgeable. The shuttle was waiting for us both ends of our rental to get us from and back to the airport.

Cons: The interior of the vehicle appeared dusty and a bit beaten up when we got it. After driving in Costa Rica though I perhaps have a better understanding of why.

Pros: The agent was very pleasant but the paperwork took way too long.

Cons: The car had no cover for the boot area even though there should be. This was disappointing as we wanted to leave luggage in the car but because there was no cover the luggage was clearly in show and therefore unsafe. When we returned the car it was checked and the agent literally checked under the car and said there was damage there that wasn’t when we first received the car. As this was under the car it was an area we never checked and therefore we have no idea if this was already there.

Pros: Friendly, helpful representatives, great car for a vacation (we rented a Toyota Yaris), easy process, we were very pleased with our overall experience.

Cons: That there is always hidden fees for extra insurance that is not mention at time of booking online even though you already have your own insurance that covers car rentals

Cons: Karen in the Liberia office made sure to explain everything about the rental and process carefully so we knew what to expect. She was professional, clear, efficient, and friendly.

Cons: They gave me a car with a half empty tank and the guy said bring back somewhat the same. I brought it back with slightly less than half and they then charged me a full tank of USD 50. This is not how it works and not client-oriented at all. Totally negative experience at the end....

Pros: The staff were fantastic to deal with and dropping off the car took very little time.

Cons: When we were picking up our car it took about an hour as there was one group in front of us and only one service agent.

Cons: There were 2 locations in San José to drop off the car. We went to the wrong one first but one of the employees said it’s fine. 10 minutes later another employee came and told us we had to drive to the other location. Although the initial issue was our fault, the time of ours they wasn’t meant we missed out bus.

Cons: Didn't get the car that I originally reserved. It was a downgrade for the same price. After exchanging the first car for a AWD one (as originally planned), the new car was still inferior to the one we originally reserved. We ended up having several issues with the car during part of our trip. We ended up changing the car for a second time for a stronger car that the one we originally reserved and paid an extra fee for that, even if we add problems with the cars, didnt get the right one first...

Pros: Rental car was not available when we arrived due to a delay and Discover would not reimburse the booking fee. This was an awful experience and would never recommend or use your service again
