Airport travel guide

Capital of the Piedmont region, Turin is one of the most interesting cities in northern Italy. While less visited and less glamorous than Milan, it is also, at least according to some visitors, more elegant and less hectic than its neighbor and sometimes rival. A place of fascinating history and architecture, these are five of Turin’s most interesting attractions:
- Royal Palace of Turin. One of the former royal residences to be found in Northern Italy, the Palace of Turin was designed by no fewer than five different architects and took nearly 200 years to finish, but the final result was clearly worth the effort. The former home of the House of Savoy is known for its distinct facade, the King’s throne, and the Chapel of the Holy Shroud. The palace is right next to the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, another architectural gem.
- Mole Antonelliana. The Mole Antonelliana in Turin is an architectural masterpiece that stands as an iconic symbol of the city. Originally designed as a synagogue, it now houses the National Museum of Cinema and is known for its distinctive and towering spire, making it one of Italy's most recognizable landmarks.
- Juventus Museum. The Juventus Museum in Turin is a must-visit destination for football enthusiasts, offering a comprehensive and interactive journey through the history of one of Italy's most storied football clubs. With a wealth of memorabilia, multimedia displays and a deep dive into the club's successes and legends, it provides an immersive experience for fans and visitors alike.
- Egyptian Museum. One of the most interesting museums of its kind outside of Egypt, Turin’s Museo Egizio is dedicated to the fascinating civilizations from the other side of the Mediterranean. The large and diverse collection includes a number of sarcophagi, sphinxes, statues, and other fascinating objects. Visit the museum’s official website to learn more.
- Gran Paradiso National Park. Located about a two-hour drive northwest of Turin, Gran Paradiso is both one of the most popular trips from Turin and one of the most impressive protected areas in Italy. Made up of the snow-capped peaks of the Italian Alps, highland lakes, and majestic views, the park provides a home to wildlife species like chamois, Alpine marmots, golden eagles, and apollo butterflies.
