Buffalo Niagara International Airport is the major airport serving Buffalo, Niagra Falls, and the rest of western New York. It is also a popular place for Canadians to fly to to reach southern Ontario, as flights are often cheaper than to Toronto.
Many fly to the airport to reach Niagra Falls. The Canadian side is sometimes regarded as a better experience. If you plan to cross the border with your rental car, be sure to check with your supplier beforehand to make sure it's ok with them. Generally, you shouldn't have to pay more nor purchase extra insurance (though you may have to purchase roadside assistance).

The airport is located roughly 10 miles northeast of downtown Buffalo. It takes about 15 minutes or so to drive between them if traffic isn't backed up. Niagra Falls is about 25 miles to the northwest of the airport or about a 30-minute drive. Be sure to take the Scenic Parkway to reach them and enjoy the views.
