I've been to Turley multiple times a year in the last few years and having a car allows me to get out and about for shopping and sightseeing whenever I want to. I'm in control of travel expenses, as opposed to being aibjexted to somewhat extortionate taxi prices.

I visited Antalya and did the trip to Kalyan through Kemer, Phaselis, Myra, Kekova, Kas, Kaputas and all the way back to Antalya starting at 09:00 and getting back at 01:00.

A guy at the rental office recommended some waterfalls which we visit and found them amazing
We also spent a day at land of legends and shopping in antalya and belek
Overall we had a fantastic time on our first trip to Turkey

We booked a manual sedan car from Antalya, Turkey and did a multi-city stop over 10 days until we reached Istanbul.
The drive was really nice and stress-free except in Ankara, and especially in Istanbul where parking spot is almost impossible to find, everywhere is extremely busy, and Istanbul side streets are very steep. I do, however, recommend driving around Cappadocia and Konya as it will give you flexibility to do and see a lot more places (and do more shopping!)

Generally there is excellent food in Turkey. People are so kind and there is no communication problems even If you meet the person who does not speak English. Turkey as a country has houndreds of good quality hotels which perfectly suits for families with children.

Being a family with a 2 yr old, it was really convenient to have your own car and drive to places at your own pace. I could select aloof places like Koprulu canyon, Saklikent gorge without having to worry about whether public transport can take me out what your would be open in winter.
