This was our first visit for New Year and we luckily came prepared for the incredible variations of weather at this time of year. Traveled most of the Island and really enjoyed having an automatic gearbox. Great views along the coast roads. We loved the sea food at all the restaurants we used. Weather could have been better but it didn't spoil our trip.

We love walking the levadas. Visiting the amazing beauty spots, The food is always good. The bolo do caco, the limpets, espada and meat on the spit. Of course we went to calheta too! Lovely beach!

Madeira is a breathtaking island with stunning scenery, well worth a visit. The road infrastructure is very impressive but there are some very windy, steep roads so you need to be a confident driver and I recommend hiring a powerful car.
