Cael is one of the businesses operating the busy car hire market of Portugal. The company is doing a very good job, being one of our highest-rated partners in the southwestern European country and receiving especially high marks for the cleanliness, as well as the overall technical condition of its cars. The company’s offices can be found in Porto in the north of the country, Faro in the Algarve, and Lisbon, the Portuguese capital.
Cael’s history goes all the way back to 1958. The current owning families acquired it in 1963 when it was a small company with only a handful of cars. They would start renting to tourists soon after, which the company specializes in to this day.
With so much experience in the industry and the Portuguese market specifically, it’s no surprise that the company is highly rated by our customers. The company won our Excellent Car Rental Service Award in both 2023 and 2024 for all of its locations — the city centre of Lisbon, Lisbon Airport, Faro Airport, and Porto Airport.
