Way car was in the airport but the car was a few car parks away from the desk and we had to search for it. Other than that we never had any problems pick up or dropping off. The car already had a dint and a few scratches but we never had any problems with the performance of it and was just small enough to easily get round some of the small streets of sicily.

900 km around the island in 10 days is a hard slog, 12 would be better. A small 1l engine with four adults and luggage was acceptable but on some hills it's a bit tough, the original car offered Skoda Scala would have been more comfortable.

Ballestrate beach is beautiful and lots of parking and food places.

For UK drivers Sicily can be an experience not for the faint hearted. Palermo is like the Wild West for driving and I would strongly recommend leaving the car in a car park. Make sure you have maximum insurance and keep an eye in your rear view mirror as Sicilians all think they are Grand Prix Drivers. Great fun tho'
