Pick-up instructions
You will pick up your rental car at the Sixt counter. If you arrive at terminal 1 or 2, follow the signs "Mietwagen/ Rental Car". The counter is located in the rental car center, parking garage 3 (P3), 1st level. The center is attainable with the elevator or the escalator. Attention: Please schedule a walking time of about 15 minutes from the terminal to the car rentals agencies. By car: You can find us even faster by using our GPS coordinates: 47.452029, 8.570618 Follow the highway direction Zurich. The airport is signposted very well from all directions in a radius of 30-50km. At the airport follow the signs "Mietwagen/Rental Car", leading you directly to Sixt which is located in the parking garage 3, 1st level. By public transportation: Many trains take you directly from Zurich main station to the airport (terminal 3) within 15 minutes. A lot of long-distance trains as well as regional trains, coming from the east, north and west of Zurich also stop at the airport. You will find the Sixt branch on the first floor of the terminal which is comfortably attainable with the elevator. Furthermore the rental car area is signed with "Mietwagen/Rental Car"
Drop-off instructions
The Sixt vehicles have to be returned on the 2nd floor of the parking building no. 3 on the marked parking area. As soon as you have entered the parking 3, keep on the left side and turn the first possibility to the left, right before the barrier. Afterwards take the first exit on the left side on level 2. For the car return you do not require a parking ticket.

Pros: drop off was easy. just left the keys in the box but walking away i was another rental car agent inspecting the car dropped off. that would be a better solution. i took alot of pictures before leaving the car.

Cons: pick up was hectic. the girl at the front desk was not helpful and was asking for coverage that was already purchased. she was reluctant to help which made the experience not so pleasant.

Cons: Thay have charged me an extra money (330 uro) for insurence althou i show the man that i already paid extra monry for ful cover of insurance. At the begining thay said that the i asked for is not available and suggested me to pay more 500 uro for a better car. After i refused they said thay found the car it just came from cleening. I dont belive them. Ill never rent a car from sixt.

Cons: I found the car with scratches and took pictures at the airport parking spot. I understood that they know about the damages because they were are bold. Also, nobody asked me to search the car to inform them about the possible damages. I did it as I am a frequent traveler. I got email from SIXT claiming about damages. I replied them two times. No reply from them yet. I am gold member with Herz and Executive with Emerald National. I am totally disappointed with SIXT.

Pros: Ease of pick up and customer service.

Cons: Car had some trouble. Twice while driving the car was unresponsive and would not accelerate. In place of gear on control panel, like D7, it said M5 and would not respond to gas pedal. We had to pull over and power cycle the car, turn off and on. One occasion was on a city road and once it happened on the highway (A3), which was dangerous.

Free cancellation with a full refund up to 48 hours before your pick-up time, Unlimited mileage, Loss Damage Waiver (damage deductible: ~€ 2915.00), Winter tires, Tire & Glass Coverage, Third Party Liability (TPL), Premium Location fee, Road tax, Free modifications, State Tax.
Driver requirements
Minimum rental age is 19 years.
A young driver fee applies to drivers under the age of 25.

There is no maximum age.
A Senior driver fee is not applied.

The driver license must have been issued by authorized authorities at least 2 year(s) before the date of the commencement of the rental.

For vehicles in groups Compact, Standard, Intermediate a driver license issued at least 2 years ago is required. For vehicles in groups Premium, Fullsize, SUVs a driver license issued at least 3 years ago is required. For vehicles in groups Luxury, Special a driver license issued at least 10 years ago is required.
Driver licenses from non-EU countries (except Switzerland) are accepted if no visa has been entered in the passport.
All non-EU residents staying in the EU for longer than 6 months must present a driving licence from an EU country. A driver license printed using a non-Roman alphabet (Arabic, Japanese, Cyrillic, etc) must be supplemented by an International Driving Permit.
For driver licenses from countries not party to the International Driving Permit treaty, an official translation of the license must be presented with the original license.
Learner's permits are not accepted; a full driver's license is required. Only physical driver's licenses are accepted (not digital versions).

In addition to documents mentioned previously, the customer will need the following: passport, valid driver license, credit card on a main drivers name, booking voucher.
Deposit and deductible policy
A deposit will be blocked on the customer's credit card and will be released within 30 days after drop-off.
The exact deposit is determined on pick up since the amount is dependent on the type of vehicle.

If the customer takes the following extra equipment: GPS Navigation system, Baby seat (up to 1 year of age), Child seat (2-4 years of age), Booster seat (4-10 years of age), Snow chains, Magnetic Ski Rack, Winter tires, Cell phone, then an additional amount of deposit will be held on their credit card.
Payment policy
At time of pick up, customers will be required to pay the amount of the rental and a deposit.
The following payment methods are accepted: American Express, Diners, JCB, Discover, MasterCard credit card, VISA credit card.

All credit cards must be capable of the following: PIN verification; cards without this capability will not be accepted.
Credit card must be valid after rental period for at least 30 days.
Cash, Prepaid cards is/are not accepted.

The main driver must provide a physical payment card in their name with enough funds to cover the deposit to pick up the car. The rental company will neither accept virtual credit cards (e.g., GooglePay or ApplePay) nor someone else’s card (including family members).
Cross-border policy
Cross border rentals are allowed only upon previous request.
Information on the exact fee amount is available by request.
Crossing country borders is allowed to the following countries: Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain-Mainland, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Gibraltar, San Marino. crossing country borders is forbidden for certain car groups.

In the event that Cross Border & Territorial Restrictions are violated, all protections lose their validity.
Optional extras and services
Available special equipment: GPS Navigation system, Baby seat (up to 1 year of age), Child seat (2-4 years of age), Booster seat (4-10 years of age), Ski rack, Snow chains, Cross border fee.

Adding additional drivers is allowed.
There is an additional charge for each driver.
Underage additional drivers are subject to both Young Driver and Additional Driver fees.
When picking up the vehicle, all drivers must be present and must provide valid documentation.

During winter season (from 15.11 until 15.04) Winter tires are included in price. Delivery/Collection service is available within city limits. Additional charges will be applied, depending on the distance.
Fuel policy
The vehicle is provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with the same amount in order to avoid additional charges.
Alternatively, the renter may purchase a tank full of fuel at the time of rental and return the tank empty.
In no case will a refund be given for unused fuel.
Additional information
Winter tires are recommended during the winter season but are not mandatory. Snow chains are recommended in icy/snowy conditions, especially when traveling in mountainous areas.
Business hours
Service outside of business hours is available by request and for an additional charge.
Period of time, during regular working hours, when the car is still guaranteed for the customer, if the customer is late for pick up (the grace period) is 59 minutes.
