Opcao Rent a Car
Opcao is a car rental company operating in Portugal, one of Europe’s most popular travel destinations. The company’s offices can be found in the national capital, Lisbon, as well as in the largest northern city, Porto. In both cities, the company has a presence in their respective international airports, Lisbon Airport and Porto Airport.
Opcao allows renters to take their rental cars to Spain, so you can visit Seville, Madrid, or Santiago de Compostela, the ending point for all the variants of the Camino de Santiago. The company likely charges an additional fee for that, though.
Opaco, like many car rental companies not just in Portugal but in other countries as well, only accepts credit cards for leaving the security deposit when picking up the vehicle. All rental companies in Portugal are now required to have their cars equipped with Via Verde transponders (some toll roads in Portugal are all electronic without toll booths). Make sure to ask Opcao about it and what their fee for it is when picking up the vehicle.
