Goldcar at Tenerife North Airport

Cons: After I had returned the car, and they told me everything was "OK", they are now trying to bill me €185.58 for damage that was NOT mentioned to me at the time I returned it. Appalling service.

Cons: They did not have the car that I ordered, and I had to pay for an upgrade. But most importantly, they decided to charge the deposit from my credit card and then to return it in two separate transactions, which resulted in huge transaction fees. Apparently, the reason for this was that I did not want to buy the expensive insurance that they wanted to sell.

Pros: nothing!

Cons: I was refused to renting a car by this agency, with a very obnoxious agent, based on technicality of changing their policy of not renting car to foreigners without international driver´s licence: they have ruined my vacations on the day of arrival at the airport! Never again!!!

Pros: Car had 10 years old tires, that sliped during rain. Winslhields were old and scrached the windows

Pros: The girl who attended us was nice and clear about the costs, quite the opposite of the company when I was booking online :)

Cons: The list is long, I would say mostly pick-up time (we had to wait 55 minutes and there was 1 person before us) Not clear about the rent and the damage insurance cost, if you book via discovers you pay a surcharge for the insirance which turns out to be NOT the damage insurance of the company (goldcar), which you will pay at pick-up Car conditions were not the best (dirty and smelly)

Cons: I booked the car far in advance and payed all insurance extras and all other fees. But when we arrived to pick the car they told me that the isurance I took is not covering this and that so I had to pay double the price than i booked to be fully covered for damage. The car was not so bad but if I knew how much will it cost me in the end I would book some other car and in future I will because this was too much for 7 days.

Cons: Nos sentimos muy presionados por el agente que nos atendió para que contrataramos un seguro con un precio superior al del propio vehículo, haciendo alusiones una y otra vez a robos en las zonas más características insistiendo en que la isla era muy peligrosa y a que nos iba a salir más caro el no contratar ese seguro porque cualquier daño en el coche iba a suponer un gran desembolso por nuestra parte. Cons: Goldcar elevó el precio hasta superar los 67 euros al día. No tenía mi tarjeta de crédito porque la máquina se la había tragado/tomado. Les di una tarjeta de débito pero no la aceptaron.

Cons: When it came time to pick up the car it took us about 1h30, it was late, we had a 9 month old baby and we were not given any priority. We asked for a baby seat as an extra, but the seat was not in proper safety condition. It lacked a head restraint, the seat belts did not fasten properly and it was not properly sanitized.

Pros: The car was great and easy to use.

Cons: I am 24. but i have my licence since i am 18 and i have drove a lot. Regardless i had to pay extra since i am a young driver. This was unexpected

Cons: I feel like I was pressured to get an insurance by a lady who harrased me with “everything that could go wrong” and all the bad things that can happen to the car in wich case I need to pay a huge amount of money. I could see it’s a way of doing bussiness, but she really tried to scare me to the point I almost left the rental desk. All this for a car That was in really bad shape! That led to me having a anxiety everytime I had to drive.

Cons: The car wasn’t well cleaned and it made a very strange noise.

Pros: NO, NO Y NO El trato con respeto, pero despectivo. Daban a entender que la isla de TENERIFE ERA PELIGROSA Y LLENA DE LADRONES. Para así coaccionar; no solo a mi sino a todo el que pasara por el aro; acoger la tarifa más cara.

Cons: De primeras error por mi parte por no haber leído las condiciones del alquiler, ya que no dispongo de tarjeta de crédito a mi nombre. Por ese motivo me indicaban que tenía que coger el coche con el seguro con más coberturas, ya que yo escogí la tarifa más económica, me indicaban que en caso de accidente no tenía ningún tipo de cobertura, además dejaban claro que en caso de rotura de lunas o robo de pertenencias tampoco tenía cobertura. Pero eso no fue lo que más me molesto sino el trato del Sr.

They took 1200 USD deposit, refused to recognize insurance purchased through other agency and when the brakes on the car started making weird noise after 2 days of driving they wanted us to put down another 1200 USD deposit to replace what was clearly a faulty vehicle. Total nonsense, avoid at all costs

Cons: They charge me extra fuel even thought i have pictures proving i deliver full extra and extra fees, they aso try to sale an insurance almost by force when i told them i already have one with you.

Cons: When you get to the car rental counter of goldcar they invent new hidden costs and want to force you to buy their insurance. Literally force you. The worst experience ever. Horrible and shameless company.

Cons: There were lots of additional costs. The final payment was nearly 4 times what was indicated when I booked the car. Pick up was very slow, only one staff member.
