Pros: We book the car for 2 weeks. It was clean commodity and ran very well. There was minor damage to the paint work. Upon our inquiry the management responded quickly and resolved the issue without any hassel or cost to us. Very happy with the car and their service, and would book again without hesitation.

This time I got a car that had the dashboard peeling, the windows tint coming off (bubbling a bit) making it blurry, making visibility at night very poor especially when oncoming cars lights shine, the reflection on the windows tint make it hard to see with a lot of steps of lights. Also, the car boot door was broken so had to rely on the keys. There were a few cracks here and there, making me feel unsafe. Car should be scraped

Cons: Car Rental Agent was not at airport holding Coastal Cars sign when we arrived for pick up. Got a local to call get them to come over to the airport and pick us up. Not a big deal, but I was charged extra money for that service that didn’t happen. For drop off the Rental Agent did not show at our Hotel at the agreed time. Not really a problem but I was charged extra money for that service. I do feel I should be reimbursed for the xtra services I had to pay for but did not receive.

Cons: There was a problem with the trunk latch on the car I was originally supposed to rent, and they spent about 30 minutes trying to fix it before giving me another car. I'm glad they didn't just let me drive off with it, but it would have been better if they just gave me the other car right away, and then tried to fix the broken latch after I left.

Their credit card surcharge is 5% (Fiji average is 3-4%) Rip off.

Cons: They haven't got an office at the terminal. They don't even bother to check flight status to align with meeting and drop off. If your flight is early you are stuck until the allocated time. I was lucky there was a local tour operator who rang them for me. Their office is located less than 5 minutes drive from the terminal. Management should take flight details and follow up. No one had contacted me from coastal until I arrived at their office. The staff were friendly though.

After a bit of discussion the agent said he would do it.

Thats why I paid $1200 for 8 days hire... to take all the hassle away from my holiday! The guy said it was in the fine print... but I had not been told this on pickup, I would have remembered that as its such a strange request to ask a customer to wash the car before returning. To be honest this put a real downer to the end of my holiday!

Cons: It wasn’t obvious until highlighted by Coastal Rentals, that despite having full insurance cover that there were excess damage costs (up to 4000 FJD) that would be payable to them to be subsequently reclaimed from Discover Cars.

Cons: It worried me that even though we paid more to cover the excess in the event of an insurance claim, we would still have to pay a $2500 excess and then it was up to us to try to claim that back from the insurers. This should not be this way. We had a claim for damage to a rental car in Hungary and because we had paid the extra to cover the excess, we just handed the car back at the airport and did not have to claim back an excess.

Also he asked me to make sure the car is fully clean and groomed before i drop off the car. No other rental company ask this to do. it is the rental company's responsibility to clean the car after customer drops it off. that is what we pay for. no visitor has time to look for a place to get the car groomed.

Pros: Communication from New Zealand was good with any questions. The car was very big and a good size for our family! Easy pick up and drop off at the airport. The car was very good and tidy.

No one was there to collect the car waited half an hour and could get through to anyone on the phone! Finally got a call back and told to leave the keys under the mat.

Cons: It would have been nice if we had known in advance that the car could have been delivered to the port where we arrived. We thought the only option was to pick the car up at the airport. We could have saved money spent for taxi to airport. We were not aware the car would be delivered to airport and assumed rental desk was at airport. We arrived early and were confused about where car was to be picked up. We should have read the paper closer as it was stated there. Lessons learned for next time.

Pros: Dropping off was almost too easy.

Cons: Picking up took quite awhile. The car was so old and gross and the center console was broken. The trunk would open any time you locked or unlocked the car. It had 150,000 miles on it and the wear and tear was very clear. Tires were bald.

Cons: I didnt get a 7 seater van as i booked.Instead I was given a 5 seater van and I had to arrange another rental from airport...it was a waste of time booking with Discover Cars. I'am looking forward for some compensation. Many Thanks Savneet Singh

Pros: We paid for the full insurance coverage on the vehicle and when we received a flat tire we were charged the cost of replacing the tire and informed me that I needed to go through discover to get reimbursed. This is in process because I need to get information from them that they didn't provide. They also don't have a rental car counter at the airport, I had to go look for some guy to get me my car.

Cons: The car was not what I booked, it was an older model toyota corolla or something, it didn't always start and all of the language defaults were in an Asian language that we did not understand and could not change. When the car didn't start it spoke to me in the foreign language and we were unable to make any adjustments to our efforts because we didn't understand it. The car beeped when it was put in reverse. Pros: We were met at the airport with the car and dropped off at the airport with our luggage. They were very accommodating and polite. Will definitely rent from them again!

Cons: Unhappy as the provider was not ready with two booster seats for children that had been ordered and paid for. This led to a long delay at night time with tired grumpy children while it was sorted.

Cons: We weren't sure where to pick up the car but we went to the wrong exit. Go to the main carpark and not the bus terminal. They do have representatives waiting for you in the terminal and It's possible we missed them

Cons: The vehicle was substandard. We arrived after dark and didn't notice a cracked repair on the front bumper, then we had to clean the inside of the windscreen in order to see properly. Next the transmission was not working properly so we had to take the car to Sigatoka - at our cost - to get it fixed (the transmission fluid needed replacement). Next the passenger door popped open a couple of times and the window switch didn't work. Then the engine kept loosing power and cutting back in.

Cons: Not car we requested and asked about Hyundai which we saw in the parking but outright declined. For drop off told to come to same place however after waiting told to drive and drop off at airport departures.

Pros: They met it at our hotel to avoid us taking a taxi to and from their location. They were friendly, pointed out a chip in the windshield during my pre-rental review, didn't try to find little dings and scratches with return and didn't pressure my to buy additional insurance.
