Cons: They filled in a paper form which included my credit card details which is already with Discover cars so not sure what happens to the paper form with my personal details on it. They also requested that the car should be washed and cleaned before returning which was odd but I did it just incase

Smooth and clean, although the roads were bumpy car was still in good condition. When dropping off car, staff again was amazing. Forgot everyone’s names, the gentleman that came up to grab the car allowed us to drop ourselves off at Departures. I think that was lovely and thank you Coastal Rental Fiji 10/10.

Cons: at all the whole experience didn't want me to drive so the car was only used twice. There was no real plan if the car brokedown leaving me uneasy about driving it. The previous mention of the critters in the car. Never have I had a rental company tell me I have to wash and groom the car before returning it. I've worked rental companies before. The car requested wasn't the car supplied the pick up after a long flight such a hastle. Meaning about an hour delay to reach our destination.

Pros: Coastal is close to Airport. Car was clean and Chris was very professional and good at exposing the rental process. Made sure we understood the vehicle and local driving laws. I will rent from Coastal again. Ability to drop off the car at our Hotel really saved us time and extra expense of taxi fees.

Cons: Car Rental Agent was not at airport holding Coastal Cars sign when we arrived for pick up. Got a local to call get them to come over to the airport and pick us up. Not a big deal, but I was charged extra money for that service that didn’t happen. For drop off the Rental Agent did not show at our Hotel at the agreed time. Not really a problem but I was charged extra money for that service. I do feel I should be reimbursed for the xtra services I had to pay for but did not receive.

Pros: The guys at Coastal Cars were very friendly and helpful. They answered all of my questions, and said "We always have your back". That was definitely true in my case.

Cons: There was a problem with the trunk latch on the car I was originally supposed to rent, and they spent about 30 minutes trying to fix it before giving me another car. I'm glad they didn't just let me drive off with it, but it would have been better if they just gave me the other car right away, and then tried to fix the broken latch after I left.

They increased their incident premium to $4,000 FJD (2x the amount included within the DiscoverCars agreement) - very dishonest and a breach of my agreement with DiscoverCars. 2. They asked me to wash and clean the car before returning it (which is an absolute joke - never have I been asked by a hire car company to clean their car prior to return) 3. Their credit card surcharge is 5% (Fiji average is 3-4%) Rip off.

Cons: They haven't got an office at the terminal. They don't even bother to check flight status to align with meeting and drop off. If your flight is early you are stuck until the allocated time. I was lucky there was a local tour operator who rang them for me. Their office is located less than 5 minutes drive from the terminal. Management should take flight details and follow up. No one had contacted me from coastal until I arrived at their office. The staff were friendly though.

Pros: Efficient and careful processing as the agent went through step by step on all the terms and conditions of the hireage. Exemplary and friendly service from the staff. When I dropped the car off an agent was already there waiting for me which was super efficient.

Cons: Initially no one was at the airport with a board when I went to pick up the car and i called the number which did not go through. But after ten minutes the agent appeared and everything went well after that so that was the only minor hiccup in the beginning.

Cons: Issues weren’t sorted as I had to do it thru discovercars which wasn’t going to happen at 8pm with a 2 hour drive ahead of us. Cars lights were dim, difficult driving at night. Car itself was good and comfortable. Surprised at departure we had to bring back car clean( first for me ) rubbish all removed but a bit of sand from use and road dirt. After a bit of discussion the agent said he would do it.

Pros: The older Indian man that met me at the airport was friendly and professional. The guy that came in to check the car when I returned it was also friendly and professional. But the young Indian man that did the paperwork before I took the car was not nice at all.

Cons: On drop off they told me I was getting fined $80 for not washing the car!! Never in my life have I had to wash a rental car before returning! Thats why I paid $1200 for 8 days hire... to take all the hassle away from my holiday! The guy said it was in the fine print... but I had not been told this on pickup, I would have remembered that as its such a strange request to ask a customer to wash the car before returning. To be honest this put a real downer to the end of my holiday!

Cons: It wasn’t obvious until highlighted by Coastal Rentals, that despite having full insurance cover that there were excess damage costs (up to 4000 FJD) that would be payable to them to be subsequently reclaimed from Discover Cars.

Cons: It worried me that even though we paid more to cover the excess in the event of an insurance claim, we would still have to pay a $2500 excess and then it was up to us to try to claim that back from the insurers. This should not be this way. We had a claim for damage to a rental car in Hungary and because we had paid the extra to cover the excess, we just handed the car back at the airport and did not have to claim back an excess.

Pros: I booked for Hyundai Sante Fe when made booking. but i received Nissan X-trial which i was not happy with. There was a new Santa Fe parked there. and when i asked for it. agent made excuse that there is a Aircon issue with it. Not happy with the service at all.

Cons: The person who issued me the car did not have polite manner to talk. he was talking like he is shouting. Also he asked me to make sure the car is fully clean and groomed before i drop off the car. No other rental company ask this to do. it is the rental company's responsibility to clean the car after customer drops it off. that is what we pay for. no visitor has time to look for a place to get the car groomed.

Covered in dents and scratches, with bits missing, so I couldn’t effectively adjust the air con vents, the front window was so dirty that at night driving into the sun I couldn’t see, we are renting so we have nothing to clean the inside of the window. Demister for the front window didn’t work properly the windscreen wiper blades were badly worn, making it difficult to see when trying to use.

Pros: Car needed a service and the warning indicator came on, left me worried I would be stranded, once the warning symbol lit up I was not feeling that all is well.

Cons: Didn't like being advised of all the things I'd have to pay for if things went wrong, I was left confused. Wished I had known all this before. Having to pay $80 to have the car cleaned was not appreciated. Never had that issue before with hire cars. It's worth paying a little more for peace of mind and knowing upfront where you stand.

Cons: I think the car they provided me was not a perfect fit to Fijian road conditions. The roads are terrible in many cases, and the car was a bit too low. I recommend to purchase higher clearance cars to make driving easier for Western drivers.

The Agent let it slip 🤙🏾, “4 new tires” and, considering the local terrain, driving around Nadi to Lautoka, Fiji, multiple times through out our 1 week stay, I was definite grateful to hear that tidbit!!! Pros: Communication from New Zealand was good with any questions. The car was very big and a good size for our family! Easy pick up and drop off at the airport. The car was very good and tidy.

Cons: Picking up the car we had to wait half an hour for someone to come help us to sort out payment and papers. We had to drop the car off at 5.30am to check in for our flight. No one was there to collect the car waited half an hour and could get through to anyone on the phone! Finally got a call back and told to leave the keys under the mat.

Cons: Wasn't a fan of the car provided, engine light turned on not long after getting the car and it was turned off with a tool, there was also a small crack in the windscreen which made us feel uneasy and opted to park the car up at our resort and not use it.

When the car didn't start it spoke to me in the foreign language and we were unable to make any adjustments to our efforts because we didn't understand it. The car beeped when it was put in reverse. Next the transmission was not working properly so we had to take the car to Sigatoka - at our cost - to get it fixed (the transmission fluid needed replacement). Next the passenger door popped open a couple of times and the window switch didn't work. Then the engine kept loosing power and cutting back in.

Pros: They met it at our hotel to avoid us taking a taxi to and from their location. They were friendly, pointed out a chip in the windshield during my pre-rental review, didn't try to find little dings and scratches with return and didn't pressure my to buy additional insurance.

Cons: The hidden cleaning fee for simply using the car, not good.

Cons: They need to have proper place allocated to meet us upon arrival. Also we were stuck at the car park for 40 minutes just to get out, and paid $6 FJD parking Fee which i guess was irrelevant or they should have paid for it.

Cons: Inefficient and extramly slow response time. The owners become extremely argumentative at any complaints and would not accept any responsibility. The windscreen had a crack, Bluetooth didn't work.

Cons: Slow communication at times, went to pick up car from airport only to find office no longer at airport had to wait for agent to drop off the car and had to drive him back to the office to complete paperwork with no compensation given and a airport surcharge still charged
