Went from Aqaba - Wadi Rum - Petra - Madaba - Aqaba via short stop at Dead Sea. 7 day trip. Driving was easy. Did not come across any aggressive driving. However, driving at night was tricky as numerous pot holes. Several police checks along the way. All were very friendly. Would highly recommend hiring a car.

In addition to the region of Aqaba, we visited the Petra and Wadi Rum desert. The general impression of the city roads is that they are well maintained and the big crossroads are regulated with traffic lights. The highway from Aqaba in the direction of Amman is not in very good condition, there are potholes and irregularities in certain sections, which makes it difficult to maintain the maximum speed limit of 110 km / h. If I have to compare with Egypt, driving in Jordan is much easier and safer!

A car is very useful in Jordan although in Amman everyone drives too carelessly. You should always be careful for police checks because even though tracks are going far faster than the speed limit when a detour lasts for many kilometers, a rented car is frequently stopped and a fine is imposed!!!

Renting an electric car with Sicily By Car worked really well. I would do it again. The charging points can sometimes be tricky but once you get used to it everything works well. The car worked really well in mountain conditions and the car charges the battery when you're going downhill! You don't need to charge the battery as much as you think. On the motorway it takes a lot of energy, but trips in the mountains worked really well and there were charging points even in small villages and towns. We were able to charge the car from 50% to 100% in 45 min. Download an app to double check and plan your route as you would with petrol stations.

When we arrived at the carrental we quickly understood we were/are going to be scammed. We decided to go to another carrental last minute. Best Insurance for rental car
I bought the full insurance and on the last day of our trip we got a break-in in the car, the rental car company charged us for damages as well as 180 Euro for cleaning glass pieces in the car, 5 days after I got full compensation for all damages and the cleaning cost in the car. They dont cover your belongning in the car but it was noted when I signed the contract.

Great customer support – turned a bad situation into a good one
My rental didn’t go as planned — I booked a car through DiscoverCars, paid in advance, but when I arrived at the rental desk, the supplier (Maggiore) refused to give me the car due to a license document issue. It was frustrating, and initially, I was told that I wasn't eligible for a refund. However, after sharing my experience with DiscoverCars customer service, they listened, responded professionally, and eventually offered a full refund – even though it wasn’t strictly required by their policy. That kind of response shows integrity and a real commitment to customer satisfaction. Mistakes and issues can happen with any service, but how a company handles them is what really matters. I truly appreciate the support and would definitely consider booking through DiscoverCars again.

Fantastic service. I have booked car through DiscoverCars , but didn’t pay attention to note, that car rental company for luxury car additionally request credit card , which I didn’t have, only debit one. As per accepted terms after car pick up time in this case I could get only full insurance fee If you have so. However doscovercar review my case and made me a full refund !
