Al Thuraya Car Rental at Aqaba Airport

Pros: Good Service

Pros: Friendly staff and convenient service. Mechanically the car worked well.

Cons: The car was a bit older and I had to wait 45 min for drop off.

Cons: There was no one at the airport when I arrived and the rental car office was closed. I had to take taxi to hotel and next day I had to go to the rental company office.

Cons: I’ve included the second drive in the contract and when we came to pick up the car, the agent didn’t included the second driver, so he had to redo the contract and it consumed more time. Although is was requested few days in advance.

Cons: 151,000 Kilometers on the Kia. I complained that I was not told I was renting a used car with very high millage and that I wanted a better car. The company said NO, and would not replace this very very high millage car. I was afraid to drive it along the coast and also to Tala Bay as I had planned. For safety reasons I returned the car 1 day early and just lost the money.

Cons: Pick up at the airport took too long due to an empty battery if tje credit card machine, I had to follow the agent to the office downtown to be able to pay, in the middel if the night, which took an extra 50 minutes. Return at agreed upon time: nobody at the office, nobody answered the phone. I had to wait two hours. When the agent finally showed up, he yelled at me 'that it was his holiday -it was Eid'. Ad if I was bothering him enormously. I will never get a car from Al-thuraya Aqaba again

Pros: They were straight forward, no hidden charges, no pushing us to take new insurances. All their car fleet are new, and the renting and dropping off process was fairly simple. Once they checked the car when I dropped it off, they immediately cancelled my deposit. Overall great experience.

Cons: The picup was at a prking lot 200-300 meters from the airport, altough there should have been a meet & greet at the airport, we had to find them ourselves. The handover took 1h, they were smoking all the time and did not speak English, also they were rude. The administration was bad, they were not helpful or responsive, also tryed to scam us with 140JOD cash, even when we told them we payed a deposit already. Not recommend them at all, really bad service, rude and disrespectful people.

Pros: AI Thuraya - I hope you are kidding me. The worst experience with the car rental I've ever had. I received an old, doggy car with zero geometry of wheels. Never again!

Cons: Almost everything. Car was dirty and smelly. They first brought the wrong car seat and when handed over the car they told we need to go with them for a tire change first.

Cons: The 'office' in the trunk was outside the building of Aqaba airport, so that was hard to find. We've had a communication problem while we were dropping off in Amman airport, probably because it's not common (driving from Aqaba to Amman). There wasn't a place/office/desk, but a guy was waiting for us.

Cons: Nobody was waiting for us with a sign of our family name and we had to ask an airport officer to assist us to find the local representative. The car was different model. When we arrived back, it was a little bit earlier and there was no any representative, so we approached another guy, who was kind enough and made a phone call to the representative and they agreed to accept the car on his behalf, and I explicitly asked him to put his signature to certify that the car was given back by us.

Cons: The rental desk was in the parking and the seller sitting in the back of the car doing papers contracts! The car was left by someone else 30min before taking it. So it was half tank full and dirty! So unprofessional! The confirmation of my reservation took place hours in Aqaba!

Pros: The car was different from the one i ordered, but at least it worked well, even though it was damaged and not in good condition.

Pros: My confirmation was meet & greet, i didn’t receive vehicle from airport, collected vehicle from city center and received by afternoon. I suppose to get morning at 8am and to receive vehicle in the Airport nobody was there. So I parked the vehicle airport rent a car parking and them message and pictures. It was totally big hassle’s. They have take authorization from my card 350 JD as a deposit. till now they didn’t released it. Please next time don’t recommend anybody local company.

Cons: First of all there was no one available at airport to provide us the car we booked, we called and waited for more than two hours to get the car and after repeated calling Al Thuraya Car Rental manager came and took another i hour to give us the car. car was not cleaned and not in good condition. We have no other option but to take the car as we are getting late for our destination. Car AC was not working and pick up was poor. We have to spend JOD 30 on car servicing and oil change.

We wait for 3+ hours on the highway for another car!!! All the time the communication and the support from Al Thuraya and from DiscoverCars was zero!

They didn't have anything else in the same class in stock, so the agent tried to give us either a very small car (for the same amount paid) or an SUV class at twice the price. In total it took 2 hours to pick up a car from the reserved class (we were delivered a car from another rental company). A very big waste of time, disappointing.
