Travelling by car allows to enjoy the roads between the main places and to freely decide where to stop on view points. It also allows to visit many sightseeing spots between the usual main places. The roads are in good conditions and driving was very easy.

Jordan is a beautiful country but having your own transport is a must if you want to make the most of it. I initially rented for 5 days but then decided to extend for the rest of my trip. Discover cars were efficient in extending my insurance while AutoNation were helpful and told me to just keep the car and pay the difference on my return. Unfortunately, I scratched the car and had to file a claim but it was approved be Discover Cars without problems. Emil was very helpful and efficient.

You need to be a fairly experienced and confident driver to drive in Amman. It is not really hard once you get a hang of the rhythm and how the drivers comunicate. It´s fairly easy to find parking even down town. But on the other hand there are plenty of affordable yellow taxi cabs.
