Toyota Hilux
The best hotel/restaurant on the Eastern side of the Andes Mountains in Salta Province is “Campo de Paya” just off Ruta 40 near Cachi in the Valles Calchaquies not far from Parque Nacional de Cardones. It is picturesque, very comfortable, and the food is really fine. The owners have a farm as well and serve fabulous fresh fruits and veggies—some of the fruit is grown in the hotel’s courtyard.

Chevrolet Onix
Cafayate was unique, however it is long drive. Salta museums were very interesting. In Cafayate the Hotel Casa de la Bodega is NOT recommended, but the Vicuna in the center of town was very nice. In Salta the Alejandro 1 was great.
