We traveled the island in Barbados. The car was spacious and it worked greatly for our family of 8. Went to the Harbour Lights Beach, dining, and Harrisons Cave

Be careful on the roads as they change from good to very very bad in a flash
The locals are very friendly and considerate

Driving on Barbados is very easy, in that sense that traffic is fairly light compared to many other places, and people are nice in letting you change lanes etc. Even though they drive in the other side of the road from what I'm used to, that's not really a problem at all. Great place to have a rental car!

Do rent a car in Barbados to get to more remote parts of the island. Driving on opposite side takes a little getting used to totally worth it to explore this beautiful island.
