Airport travel guide

"The Biggest Little City in the World" has long been the alternative to Las Vegas. Like in Vegas, gambling is legal in the city and there are numerous casinos. While the city used to be almost as popular as Vegas itself, it is these days much calmer — though it does tend to give an idea of what Vegas would have been like years ago before the mega-developments of the Strip.
Reno-Tahoe International Airport also serves travelers heading to either Lake Tahoe or the ski resorts in the mountains in California. Either is a very short drive from the airport.

Main airlines
Southwest Airlines carries more than a third of the passengers at Reno Airport. American, United, Delta, and Alaska Airlines also serve the airport.
Terminals
There is only one terminal with two concourses — B and C (confusingly, there is no A concourse). Getting between the two and to baggage claim takes only a short walk.
Location
Reno-Tahoe Aiport is located right off of I-580 about five miles from downtown Reno. It also is incredibly convenient for reaching I-80.

Car rental desks
The car rental desks at Reno-Tahoe Airport are directly across from the baggage claim carousels. Some rental car suppliers have cars within walking distance while others provide a free shuttle (that only takes a few minutes) to another section of the airport after you sign the rental agreement.
Services and facilities
Reno-Tahoe Airport has all the usual services and facilities that an airport its size usually has. You can find numerous places to grab a bite to eat, drink, or have coffee. There are vending machines and newsstands to get snacks, too.
One unusual thing the airport has is slot machines — this is Nevada after all. Find more about the shopping and dining options on the airport's official website.
Nearest gas station
A 76 station on Plumb Rd. is the closest station to the airport. From there, you can easily get to the rental car return without getting back on I-580. However, prices there may be more than other stations a little further away.
Right around the corner, there is a Costco station if you happen to be a Costco member.
A Shell station a mile down Plumb Rd. in the opposite direction of the airport may have lower prices and be worth the few minutes it takes to get to and from.
