Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport serves the cities of Savannah in Georgia and Hilton Head in South Carolina. It provides access to coastal Georgia and the southern part of the South Carolina Lowcountry.

Savannah is an old colonial city, which wasn't destroyed during the Civil War, and as such, is a popular tourist destination. Given the warm weather, it is popular almost year-round. 

Hilton Head is an island full of resorts and is known for its beaches. Further to the north of it, you can find the old city of Beaufort with its many old houses and buildings. The entire coast is a great destination to relax and enjoy slow life at the beach.

Main airlines

As of May 2022, there are 37 nonstop destinations from Savannah/Hilton Head Airport. Most of them are along the east coast, but Los Angeles, cities in Texas, and Denver are among them.

Aveo, Allegiant, American, Breeze, Delta, Frontier, JetBlue, Southwest, and United are the man airlines that serve SAV.

Terminals

There's only one terminal at the airport with 15 gates. You can easily get anywhere in just a few minutes.

Location

The airport is about 10 miles from the Historic District of Savannah, a drive that takes 20 minutes in light traffic. Hilton Head is about a 45-minute drive to the northeast of the airport. The airport is conveniently located right off of I-95, so you can easily get up and down the coasts of Georgia and South Carolina.

Car rental desks

All of the car rental desks are located in the baggage claim area of the terminal. The cars themselves are in parking lots just outside the terminal (all covered with covered walkways). You'll return your car to the same spot, so you won't need a shuttle.

Services and facilities

You'll find all of the things you need at the airport. There are options for fast food, coffee, alcoholic drinks, and vending machines. There are newsstands, ATMs, and a nursing mothers' room. It's also accessible for disabled people.

Nearest gas station

There are two gas stations at the airport exit when heading toward the airport. These may not be open early in the morning and tend to have high prices. On the opposite side of the interstate, there is both a Murphy and Sam's Club (if you're a member) station along with a Shell station further down the road.
