GJT is the nearest airport to scenic destinations, including the Colorado National Monument, Dinosaur National Park, and the Black Canyon of Gunnison National Park. Its proximity to eastern Utah also makes it the closest airport to Arches and Canyonlands National Parks.

All of the car rental companies that serve the airport have desks inside the terminal across from the airline check-in desks. The airport is so small that it is almost impossible to miss the desks. The vehicles are located in a parking lot that is beside the terminal.
Services and facilities
Grand Junction Airport, being a small, regional airport, does not have all of the services and facilities that one would find in a large airport. There is a concessions store where you can purchase drinks, snacks, or sandwiches. There is no full-service restaurant or lounge.
