Amazing nature. The beauty of the north of the island with wave beaten rocks natural pools, amazing views and many beautiful places to discover by foot. Mountain villages are delightful day trips. The colours of gran Canaria, the bananas and the coffee. Splendid place.

It is an excellent place to go for a family holiday. Lots of activities like hiking, trekking, water sports, from the peaks to the sand dunes, rugged west coast and the caldera. Loved the aquarium and most beautiful part was the walk on the sand dunes and along the old lighthouse on the promenade watching the sunset.

Great island to explore by car with lots of hikes and beautiful scenery. Small car recommended, especially for mountain roads. Mountain roads are a bit tricky (better to be an experienced driver), but you get used to them and they were mostly empty in early March, just pull over for occasional locals to pass by. Most parking in the mountains was roadside or unpaved car parks.
