Mauriconnect Car Rental at Mauritius Airport

Pros: Multiple cars available, nearby office

Cons: The initial car that was offered was damaged, hatchback piston for opening fell off, and boot cover was broken.

Pros: Easy collection.

Cons: Hard sales with the insurance.

Pros: The rental prices are great, very affordable

Cons: The condition of the car wasn’t great, the doors never closed properly at once. The price they charged for missing 1 bar of fuel was ridiculous (double the price of a gas station). For some reason they ask you to pay a parking ticket and when asked about it they explained it as it was logical to pay for parking of a car that you just picked up!!

Pros: Great car to get around the country

Cons: We were asked to pay for additional insurance dispute already having paid for inclusive insurance without booking. We were told that the insurance on the booking wont cover us for everything. Hence the 6/10 rating.

Pros: very efficient

Cons: Difficult to find! But if you go to the information desk in the airport they happily sorted it out for us and phoned the guys who came to get us.

Pros: Fair price, clean car in good condition and one year old so there were no issues running around during my visit

Cons: I paid for what I thought was full insurance cover when I booked the vehicle online with Discover cars only to be told at pickup that that was not sufficient insurance. I was then forced to pay an additional £140 to get their fully comprehensive insurance in Mauritius or they would not give me my booked vehicle. Either Discover cars or Mauriconnect were not being honest about the online insurance cover.

Pros: Good quality car and the agents are friendly and helpful With very little fuss

Cons: Had to look for nearest petrol station

Pros: Friendly and efficient service at the airport. The car was virtually new which gave us confidence driving around the island. Would definitely recommend and use this company again in the Future.

Cons: Hidden insurance cost. If I had known, would have not selected the option online for insurance as essentially felt like I had paid twice.

Pros: Simple process, quick and efficient.

Pros: Mauriconnect have a range of vehicles which go from new to not so new. Which is probably why they are able to offer such good prices. At first we were taken to a not so new vehicle. It had a few scrapes here and there(around 5 years old). For driving around Mauritius this looked fine. On handover inspection we found boot had faulty switch so they instantly changed our vehicle to what was basically brand new. Returning vehicle was also easy.

Cons: When we picked up the vehicle they were quite pushy with the full protection insurance, but I was prepared for this as I’d taken out Discover cars policy, which was cheaper.

Pros: Quick turnarounds at both check out and check in.

Cons: The only slight challenge I had was that the satnav is actually a phone with Google maps on, but it's not connected online, so the maps aren't entirely up to date (that could also be because there's a lot of roadworks going on for the new tram lines) and you don't get live traffic updates. Perhaps worth bringing your own satnav if you have a separate unit for navigation purposes.

Pros: Pros: 1) easy to find at the rental booth outside arrivals 2) quick service 3) one of the cheaper companies on the market for rentals 4) the car was clean, worked well and was pretty much brand new 5) there was advice about what to do if you had an accident or emergency

Cons: 1) I felt I was given a hard sell in purchasing the extra insurance supplied by the company, despite the fact I said I had this covered cheaper with a third company already. This became a bit of a scare tactic when the vendor showed me the £600 receipt for damage with a previous renter. 2) the price of the rental was quoted as £225 for two weeks but after some made up on the hoof exchange rate between euros and rupees, I ended up spending £25 more due to this dodgy exchange rate.

Pros: I had a brand new car

Cons: Waited a long time at pick up as there was no one at the desk and had to ask someone at another desk to call the rep

Pros: Nice little car (though quite dented, but it wasn't a problem) and good service when amending booking. Instead of having £500 held on my card in case of damage, I paid an extra £70 to have no liability for damage. Whilst I didn't damage the car, given the cheap hire price, it was worth paying the extra for peace of mind

Cons: Nothing in particular. Bit of a misunderstanding when picking the car up when it came to insurance, but i put this down to a language barrier.

Pros: having not purchased the £100 excess waiver insurance that he tried so hard to sell me, I was afraid I'd get charged for one of the scratches that were already on the car when I picked it up. Fortunately the agent was already dealing with irate customers who couldn't get their money back from him, so he promptly refunded me my £600 deposit. I really liked that!

Cons: aggressive sale of excess waiver insurance, showing pictures of crashed cars and sharing tales of £600 deposit blocked for 3-4 months

Pros: It was satisfactory

Cons: The state of the car we were given, was dirty inside ans out. the second car was better but still shabby.

Pros: The gentlemen at the airport desk were extremely helpful & attentive. The service was fast & efficient.

Cons: There was no screenwash in the car. When we arrived to drop off the car it was extremely difficult to find the way in to where to go (more an airport signs problem though), & once we did get there it took about 5 minutes for the man to arrive at the desk.

Pros: Straightforward pickup

Cons: Car was in poor condition. Finding where to return car is VERY difficult with no signs-advise when picking up would have saved frustration.

Pros: Helpful staff member Udish, nice and easy pick-up and drop-off

Cons: Only 1 person working at the time so if more than 1 customer present, you may have to wait some time to be seen to
