- Even if you have an IDP, you still need to also provide your valid driver’s license from your country
- You must carry your driver’s license, not a copy, with you at all times.
- You need to have had your driver’s license for at least two years.
- Some rental car suppliers charge a young driver fee for drivers between the ages of 22 and 25 and a senior driver fee for drivers over the age of 65.

We stayed at Tamarind which was really good. They are closing next year for refurbishment so will need to find another hotel. The Tides restaurant was excellent, good service and very good food. Would also recommend Baia Peruvian restaurant.

Travelled all over the island of Barbados in the car: beaches; botanical gardens, wildlife reserve, snorkelling, capital city and local shopping/eating. Couldn’t have done all that without the hire car. It gave us total freedom.

Our 5th time in Barbados and we are still discovering new gems. Surfside in Holetown remains a favourite, as does Lone Star. We all had great fun at The Boatyard too. We've taken a trip on Calabaza every time we have been to Barbados and it is always a highlight. This trip was no exception.

It was a great experience visiting Barbados…We were lucky , The English cricket team were visiting so we visited the famous Kensington Oval to watch WI vs England…( Great Ambiance)Had lunch at the Champers with its amazing view of the Ocean …And a visit to the Animal flower cave with its window to the Ocean was simply priceless….

I mostly stayed on the South Coast and Bridgetown. We also made one longer trip to Bathsheba (Soup Bowl and St. Aidens Church) and I had to drive with care going down and then up the steep hills. Overall, the car performed OK.

Parking rules/regs in Bridgetown are unfathomable to a tourist. We picked up a ticket despite spending an hour trying to work out where was legal to park and believed that we had got it right. We obviously didn't get it right. We liked Bridgetown but the ticket felt like an anti-tourist measure. We didn't go back a second time to Bridgetown to visit the museum because of the parking issues.
We don't object to parking restrictions and are happy to pay to park, but couldn't the authorities make it easier to understand.
