Ilha Verde in Ponta Delgada (Downtown)

Pros: Good cars

Cons: They do not have a drop-box system for returning car out of office time. Pick up is quite slow as they have only 1 employee for both paperwork and car inspection

Pros: All very efficient and helpful

Cons: It wasn't clear that picking the car up was from a Ilha Verde office and there was no Discovery Cars branding at the office in Ponta Delgada.

Pros: Nearby and rather cheap The staff-member who came to help to jumpstart the battery was very kind and professional

Cons: The desk-staff wasn’t very pro-active and it seemed they couldn’t smile or welcome you in a friendly way. There wasn’t any information about the car given at pickup, or a car-manual in the glove-compartment. When we had a problem, it was difficult to get a little help from te desk-staff.

Pros: The car we received was great - no complaints at all.

Cons: Breaks were terrible. Squeaking noise every time you break. Scratching noise coming from the wheels all the time.

Pros: The personnel is nice, price was ok, it is possible to rent a car at one rental and return at another.

Cons: The condition of the cars. The 1st car we were offered with couln't open the fuel tank, the 2nd car had a big hole in tyre - the rental personnel didn't know about the defects, we found it ourselves. The 3rd car which we finally rented had over service period and insurance was not valid (both of those we found during the time, not immediately). It seems the car controls are not very thorough.

Pros: Because afterall we didnt pay the gas at the airport, we payed an intern tax for not fueling the car! We were Then asked to pay Almost 20€, which we refused. We ended up paying around 5 € for gas, and waiting Almost 40 minutes when dropping of the car, because of Ilha Verdas customservice and wrong charge when changing the car.

Cons: We got the car changed at the first day because of the engine-lamp light. We were told to drop of the car and change it at the airport. We didnt fuel the car because we were told to drive directly to the airport. At the airport we were told to pay for the gas, which we accepted - allthough we refused to pay a tax for not fueling it, because the engine lamp turned on wasnt liable to us. Returning the new car at the end of the rent period was quiet difficult, (continueing under like)

Pros: The woman in the desk was super impolite. We had a problem with the card and she kept on taking new clients without informing me in anything. Very bad

Cons: They tried to charge a 10 EUR cleaning, then dropped it. Sounds like something they will try regularly. Pick up in Ponta Delgada was slow, drop off at the airport was better. Car was full of scratches and also had a bigger dent at the side.

Cons: I was charged 51 euros for being 1.5 hours late returning. I explained that I took the wrong road and ended in Ribe Grande. Ridiculous. I was also charged for an upgraded car I didn't want. I was only paying20 something euros a day!!!
